ARE STORY, STORY-TELLING, AND LORE GOOD?
The story is good, we have a pretty neat story revolving around Dante's brother Vergil's quest to obtain his father's Spardas powers, a brotherly rivalry to best each other, and Dante's quest to stop Vergil from opening the hell's gate to the human world with a lot of cool, dramatic, and epic scenes, along with cory dialogues Dante has, he is one of those badass offers who don't give a sh*t about nearly anything at all and can play around, have fun, etc, even in most serious situations. Story-telling is good as well most of the time, and it's not just told via text, despite the game being old it still has well-made voiced cutscenes, honestly, it would put a lot of games into shame considering most games in those years didn't have them, in fact, even in this year a lot of companies still use slideshow type of cutscenes, which is unacceptable at this point. Not to forget how well-written characters are like Mary/Lady, how she hates demons, and his father because of killing her mother, how she acted when she faced him, how she hesitated, even shed some tears for him, etc. So characters have good writing and they simply have souls, they feel like humans with personalities, and they are not robotic, and boring. And lastly, there are some interesting dialogues like Arkham's ''A storm approaching.'' dialogue he told while talking with Vergil, and it almost feels like Vergil said ''Damn Arkham, that's a nice quote, I should kill you and take it for myself'' since his battle theme in the DMC5 is ''I'm the story approaching.'' :D
HOW ABOUT THE MAIN VILLIANS?
You already know Vergil, who is the brother of the main character Dante, he is a badass motherf*cker like Dante, but he is not corny like him, he has a more serious tone, and he is one of the best villains ever created in video games. Aside from him, we had another villain in this game, Arkham, Arkham was quite an interesting villain, in fact despite all of them being tried, and injured how he tackled Dante, Vergil & Lady same time was quite cool as well, sadly his BOSS fight was quite disappointing, even tho it kind of makes sense he turned into some kind of shapeless demon with Sparda's powers since he wasn't even pure demon, and become demon with experiment he made, design-wise he still looked bad, and whole fight was quite bad as well. Thank god the last mission had that epic fight between Dante & Vergil, so we could get rid of the terrible BOSS fight he had, the final fight happening between Dante & Vergil could be one of best BOSS fights ever made, it's one of those BOSS fights nearly perfect, and epic AF.
HOW ABOUT THE GAMEPLAY & COMBAT?
Our combat is quite well-made, quite fast, responsive, and enjoyable, hitting enemies, making combos, fighting with BOSSes, etc, is satisfying, and weapon variety is good as well, skill variety is a bit lacking for weapons tho, but since the game is not too long I guess it's acceptable, and it doesn't bother you too much since the core mechanics are well made. But this mostly well-made combat is a pretty bad point, and that's the camera angles, seriously I mean it, your biggest enemy in this game is not the enemies or bosses, it's the camera angles, it randomly goes back in the fort, doesn't show the enemies it should, enemies go off screen constantly, etc, the list goes on, so keep that in mind. And lastly, in this game, we have things called ''Styles'' as well. ''Trickster'' lets you dash, ''Swordmaster'' lets you use new different attack moves with every weapon, ''Gunslinger'' adds new attacks to the guns, ''Royalguard'' lets you block or parry the enemy attacks, ''Quicksilver'' lets you slow the time, and lastly ''Doppelganger'' lets you create copies of yourself to use in the battle, they change your gameplay a lot, and give the game's combat quite more variety.
ENEMY & BOSS VARIETY ARE GOOD?
Sadly the game lacks enemy variety and keeps sending the exact same enemies on high numbers over and over again, you still can have fun with making combos, etc, but that doesn't change how same or samey enemies are. On the other hand, BOSSes are one of the best things this game does, nearly every BOSS has their own mechanics, special attack patterns, special weaknesses/tactics you can use to beat them along with going brute force way, and a lot of them, especially the ones you do with Vergil mostly gives you quite epic fights. Only two of them are bad, The first one is Geryon, Geryon is simply not a good BOSS fight, but it's not really important BOSS, but the Arkham is a big issue, he is literally the main antagonist of the game, yet his BOSS fight is dogsh*t, it's still worst DMC BOSS fight ever exist, and one of worst BOSS fights ever created, it's such a shame character like Arkham having that bad BOSS fight, truly wasted potential.
HOW ABOUT LEVEL DESIGNS AND VISUAL STYLE?
There are some rare good level designs, but most of them are just fine, there are two bad levels that exist tho, first one is mission 15, it's unnecessarily confusing, and without a walkthrough, it could be really frustrating, and time-wasting, and there is literally no reason for it to be that confusing. The other one is Mission 18, which is the mission where you fight with old BOSSes again, technically you need to fight with only Cerberus, Agni & Rudra, and Beowulf, but if you don't know this combination as a new player you might think you need to beat all of them, which is a mistake most new players did, but even without killing all of them needing to kill 3 three BOSSes you already killed as a new mission, especially very close to the end of the game is very lazy design, literally does nothing aside from killing your enthusiasm for the end of the game, purpose-wise some people use as BOSS rush, or red orb grind place, and honestly it would be nice if it was optional, but it's not, and that's bit *ss.
PRAISE TO MY FATHER, BLESSED BY WATER, BLACK NIGHT, DARK SKY, THE DEVILS CRY
The game has one of best OSTs in video games ever, some are really bangers like Divine Hate or Devils Never Cry, and some are really emotional like Total Result, they are nearly perfect fit for the game, and the scenes, and make the whole experience f*cking neat.
ONE OF BEST ENDINGS EVER MADE
In the end,
after Dante beats Vergil, hell doors start to close, Dante wants to take Vergil and leave, but Vergil doesn't accept, he can't swallow his pride and go back with Dante, knowing he or Dante won't change, knowing maybe he can get more powerful in the hell, so instead he urges Dante to leave, takes his amulet with himself to make sure Dante can't use Sparda's sword in full potential, approaches the edge, and leaps into the hell, later we saw Dante talking with the Marry/Lady, she saws Dante crying, and asks, Dante says ''it's only the rain, Devils never cry.'' then Marry says ''Maybe somewhere out there even a devil may cry when he loses a loved one. Don't you think?'' and Dante says ''Maybe'' then we see Mary/Lady and Dante start working together to kill all demons in the world in their newly named place called ''Devils May Cry''
and we experience one of best endings ever made in video games...
OUTCOME EVALUATION
In the end, this is one of the best games in the series, if not the best, it has some problems, especially technical ones, like bugs, or has some badly-designed levels, and BOSSes, but they are quite rare, and despite their existence the whole experience still amazing, I do believe every gamer should play Devil May Cry 3 at least one time in their life, and experience this journey.

Devil May Cry 3 is an amazing game. One of the best actions games of all time. But this port was atrocious. Graphically it looked fine in some ways but in others things were broken or removed like it having a lack off any form of controller support forcing you to play with mouse and keyboard or mess around with modding.
The mod support by the community has been amazing and they have done a wonderful job fixing it up. But there is no reason to play this version especially with the many better ways that this game can be played in the releases that have come out since. Even comparing it to the original.
I'm glad that it is no longer available.
This port is just not user friendly.
