Okayish game with some issues. The setting is pretty unique and engaging featuring a crazy lady who is chasing and trying to stab you. The basic idea of sneaking around a creepy school and hiding from a threat is quite interresting and engaging in the beginning.
Gameplay gets sadly a bit tedious fast, especially since a lot depends on RNG. Sometimes you can run around for ages without encountering the enemy. Sometimes its constantly on your ass even tho you just escaped and came out of hiding. This gets especially annoying towards the end when the opponent becomes more powerfull, you basically can go down a staircase and get oneshot without the ability to react if the NPC happens to be there.
The design decision to try to build on the main mechanics by making them more challenging instead of adding variety also did not help here. Especially the final part was more annoying than scary since you tried to navigate through a maze while constantly valling victim to bad RNG.

Let's start with what I hate about Horror games. 1). I hate when the enemies do not seem to be a real threat, but still, the main protagonist cannot even fight back. 2). I hate complicated maps where we must waste time walking around brainlessly.
The Coma: Recut contains both aspects that I hate. However, it's still better than other games. Firstly, although fighting back is still impossible in this type of game, the game allows you to dodge and use many items! Secondly, from the beginning til the middle of the game, maps are simple and the directions are clear, making it easy to progress (except for the North map which is still hilariously complicated). Therefore, the game is surprisingly enjoyable.
A bit of a spoiler here: before playing this game myself, I had already known that to get a good ending, players need to complete specific tasks and one of the tasks requires walking from the North map to the beginning of the game again. Due to the complexity of the map which makes me sick of it, I decided to give up and accept the bad ending. If they maintained the simplicity of the map, it would be more enjoyable. But that's not what happened, sadly.
