I had fun for the 4 hrs it took me to clear all the single player content. The story is enhanced by some wonderful localization. I laughed...then I punched some heaving chesticles.

This is one of the few vr games that i feel has a legitimate 30+ positive reviews.
If you're looking for a reason to swing your arms and you want something different than audio shield, this is a good pick. There is a decent amount of progression and unlockable items in this game

I'm surprised about this game, it was a buy in a boring day with low expectations and widely exceed that. Space Fist is a 1vs1 beat'em up in the good and old way: many characters, many game modes including a story mode and lot of locked upgrades (Soul Calibur kind). It's not a simulator like for example Thrill of the Fight today (at launch it was VERY different) it uses low and high guard, low and high hits, energy bar and supercharge, everything is simplified and arcadey but effective.
All that stuff is yet enough to catch my attention, as I don't like much half made games with few or no goals and few contents (I'm waiting for Knockout League for this reason) where Space Fist is a full game than can be beated in 4-5 hours with a very decent replayability including a PvP only LAN at the moment. But another quite surprising side of the game is the overall polishing, with a good graphics with nice textures and filters. Characters are the most detailed I've seen in VR with a great scale, a skinny girl or an huge wrestler in front of you drive very different feelings. Good environments too, menus and on screen text are super polished and arcadey, decent oriental rock background music. It's not the Namco or Team Ninja kind of quality (I suppose the budget here is a microscopic fraction of those) but Space Fist is closer than any other fighting game I ever tried for VR.
The game is not perfect by any means: animations are not excellent and anyway in VR it's so hard to feel "alive" and not artificial, those looks like puppets with some Dead or Alive kind of oriental style. My english sucks and is cleary not my language, but the one in the game is not much better and the story is just ridicule/irrelevant. The game offers many modes, but I feel the missing of the classical coinop way to play, the Trial mode try to offer that but it's not the same. Your energy is written in your wrist, but it's very hard to read during combat.
Those searching for a Street Fighter/Tekken/whatever clone for VR should seriously consider this one.

one of the best fighting vr games
wonderfull graphism and special effect
the ultimate attack are incredible
the only thing unfortunate the story mode is not captivating...i would have appreciate we can fight about a version robot of every character instead to fight against the child of the master a lot of times
and we can only have one character , for a fighting it is unfortunate
but even with thesees bad things , i enjoy a lot the the game and the mode versus cpu is perfect , we can choose the cpu to play against and the stage
a great vr game i recommand and in my eyes , it stays one of the best fighting game vr

This is one of the most interesting genres I'd like to see being developed for VR. First person fighting games have so much potential. This game, while basic in nature.. is still a really great idea.. Block high and low, punch high and low.. provide a move similar to a Super move in most fighting games and add multiplayer (which they did) and in theory, you would have a great game, providing you had great controls.
Well.. I like what they did here and what I would love to see is a slightly tighter control when it comes to hit detection and maybe show an invisible shield when you're blocking high and low so you know you activated block. I'd like to see more fighters and the ability to select different fighters (with different super moves of course). If they tighten up the contols a bit more and add a bunch of extra fighteres, I'd be happy to pay for that extra content as long as they don't go the route of Capcom..
For what we have here thus far, I think its worth the 15 bucks (sale price currently, as of this review) just to give yourself a chance to try a 1st person vr fighter for the first time. The Dev did something cool here.. and I'd love to see more as it has the potential to be great.
Straight jabs and hooks actually change the animation of the character being hit as you see their head change direction upon impact. No bad at all.

Fun concept, but the excecution is lacking. Super inaccurate hit detection, and vague blocking mechanics. It's unclear what you're doing wrong as you get pummeled by little girls. Why am i supposed to hit little girls in the first place?? Training is very ineffective, voice acting/localization is worse. Visuals are nice, but gameplay is garbage in its current state.

Horrible game. Nice graphics but the mechanics is horrible. The characters goes through me and I stood where I'm suppose to. I put my arms up to block but still getting hurt. When character goes through me, I can't seem to punch them. I punch them in the stomach and they are wide open but doesn't get hurt. Don't bother.

Really a great start to this game. Lots of good features out of the gates and more depth than most fighting games. Graphics are fantastic and love the fact you can upgrade your gear as you go. It gives a real sense of progression.
As most people have said though, still some work on the hit detection and block detection needed though. Once that's fixed, this will be the best VR fighting game on Steam.
