TankCraft is a 2D top down shooter with a difference... you get to customise your own "tank" to fight with. Which seems like an awesome idea, and it kind of is, except, you know, it's delivered terribly. From a technical perspective, the game doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard. The artwork here is terrible, I couldn't even work out if it was supposed to be 2D retro pixel "art", or if it's just, you know, bad. It's unclear if this is due to lack of budget to arrange someone who can do graphics properly, or lack of talent, regardless, the overall visual quality of the game is extremely low as a result of these decisions. There's no options to change the resolution for the game or customise the graphics settings. There's no way for gamers to ensure this is running at the native resolution of their displays... there's no guarantee this game will look right on any PC as a result of this hamfisted design decision. There's no way for gamers to try improve the low quality graphics. The controls can't be customised, which will be an annoyance for many, but it can also render the game unplayable for differently-abled gamers. They're also exceedingly clunky, making the game extremely unpleasant to play. These technical defects push this game below acceptable standards for any modern PC game. Reviewing SteamDB to check how popular this game was with players reveals a surprise... there's a very healthy spike in player counts for the game. But this only appears around the same time that trading cards were applied to the game... so this is just card idlers getting their cards and moving on. A closer look at the numbers shows the game just has a couple of players every week running up the game and idling it for cards, then deleting it. We must ask how it benefits gamers for there to be so many games like this, with no merit as a serious game, that only generate sales from people idling and selling the trading cards. TankCraft is relatively cheap at $1 USD, but it's not worth it. Given the defects and quality issues with the game, coupled with the unrealistic price, this is impossible to recommend. If you want a game that lets you build your own vehicles, try Crossout or Robocraft, games that have decent 3D graphics and great combat mechanics. If you want a good, authentic tank game, try War Thunder.

An impossible game to play and not because of the difficulty. The movement controls were so bad that it was actually easier to sit still and fire at the enemy while an inch away then to actually move it around. The editor was extremely simple and felt like it didnt matter what i put on my tank as long as i had the bare minimum. The graphics made me feel like i wasnt wearing my glasses. I actually regret spending the $0.74 that it took to buy the game. Heck, they'd have to pay me in order to make me play it more. Not sure what high school freshman made this game, but it doesnt belong on steam.
