A fun arena FPS game that recaptures not just the feeling of playing N64 shooters like GoldenEye, but the feeling of tweaking the settings and playing in very specific game modes, in this case with the "explosives only" weapon set.
The game's only weapons are different types of throwable explosives. On top of that, there are plenty of game mode variations like fast motion and invisibility. The game has a colorful, low-poly/sprite-texture aesthetic that looks great. I haven't gotten the chance to play a multiplayer game yet, but the single player campaign has plenty of fun to offer. It's styled after Mario 64, with a hub-world full of doors that you unlock with collectables. You get more collectibles by returning to levels to play with different variations and win conditions. The levels themselves are varied and creative, and keep the game interesting with things like destructable floors and underground passages.
Definitely worth checking out if you miss the days of N64 party games.

Nice throwback to the simpler days of split-screen FPS games. It's kind of like if Goldeneye 64 and Super Mario 64 had a baby. You'd think that only having grenades would be boring, but it's really not. There are some variations to try out, but nothing too crazy. The fast pace and challenge are what make it fun. It's also a plus that you can go head-to-head with 4 players local, or you can co-op the campaign mode together and unlock dozens of levels. The only thing lacking here is online play. Overall, it's a fun budget game to play locally with friends. Check out my gameplay if you're interested.

3..2..1..Grenades is definitely a good first showing from Banyango. It feels like a weird mix of Super Mario 64 and Goldeneye with the colour palette and jagged lines of Megaman Legends. It's a little rough around the edges / lacking polish in some places, but the music is catchy, and there is a good variety in the multiplayer. The boss fight(s) feel fun, and the main mechanic is kept fresh with different power-ups, match mutators, maps, and game types. If you're looking for a one-off party game for a party and you have a few extra xbox controllers, this is a decent choice.

3... 2... 1... Grenades! The Ultimate Explosive Showdown
Setting: A chaotic war-torn battlefield, littered with craters, smoldering debris, and smoke clouds rising in the distance. The cast from across the multiverse — Megumin, Mr. Torgue, Tiny Tina, Moze, Jinx, Revy, Gaige, Ziggs, Demoman, Soldier, Bakugo, Hatsume Mei, Rebecca (Edgerunners), Deidara, Kimblee, Bambietta, Jackal, and even the iconic Worms with their Holy Hand Grenades — are scattered around, ready to play the game of all games: "3... 2... 1... Grenades!"
Announcer Voice: "WELCOME TO THE MOST EXPLOSIVE EVENT IN HISTORY! GRAB YOUR GRENADES, PULL YOUR PINS, AND MAYHEM AWAITS! READY? 3... 2... 1... GRENADES!"
As the countdown finishes, the battlefield erupts into absolute chaos, with characters frantically grabbing grenades, throwing them, and dodging explosions. Everyone is screaming, laughing, or cackling in their own way.
Round 1: The Countdown Begins
Mr. Torgue: (screaming) BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! THIS IS THE GREATEST DAY OF MY LIFE! He’s tossing grenades left and right, punching the air with pure excitement. EXPLOSIONS SOLVE ALL PROBLEMS! SCIENCE PROVED IT!
Megumin: (laughing maniacally) You think your grenades can match my Explosion? FOOLS! Witness TRUE destruction! She dramatically waves her staff, but just before she can cast her spell...
Tiny Tina: HOLD UP, GIRL! You gotta give the rest of us a chance to EXPLODE stuff too! She tosses a grenade in Megumin’s direction, forcing her to duck for cover.
Moze: (calling out) Time to bring out the big guns! Her mech, Iron Bear, appears and starts launching a volley of grenades like fireworks, lighting up the sky. This is gonna be fun!
Jinx: (jumping up and down with excitement) Ooooh! The explosions are so pretty! Let’s add MORE! She grabs a cluster of grenades and launches them with Fishbones, cackling as explosions rip through the air.
Ziggs: (skipping through the battlefield) Wheeee! Explosions are my specialty! Catch this! He throws a gigantic bomb that bounces erratically before blowing a crater into the ground.
Round 2: Holy Hand Grenades Enter the Fray
Suddenly, the Worms from the Worms games parachute in, holding their iconic Holy Hand Grenades.
Holy Worm: "HALLELUJAH!" A heavenly chorus sings as they toss their Holy Hand Grenades, causing massive, reverberating explosions.
Demoman: (eyes wide with excitement) Now that’s what I call an explosion! Aye, lads, this is gonna be one for the history books! He grabs his Stickybomb Launcher and starts setting traps, laughing as grenades bounce around.
Soldier: (saluting) EXPLOSIONS, EXPLOSIONS EVERYWHERE! YOU’RE ALL MAGGOTS, AND I LOVE IT! He charges into the chaos, rocket-jumping through the air, grenades exploding around him.
Rebecca: (laughing uncontrollably) This is MY kind of game! I’m blowing everything up and I don’t even care about winning! CHOOM! She tosses grenades randomly, diving through the wreckage like it’s a playground.
Bakugo: (grinning wildly) EXPLOSIONS, HUH?! I’LL SHOW YOU REAL EXPLOSIONS! He charges his hands with explosive power, sending shockwaves across the battlefield. I’M GONNA BLOW YOU ALL TO PIECES!
Round 3: Explosive Rivalries
The chaos intensifies as characters start teaming up or fighting for the title of "Most Explosive."
Deidara: (calm, smug) Art is an explosion, yeah? But these tiny grenades are nothing compared to my work. He creates a clay bird grenade and sends it soaring into the battlefield, where it detonates in a spectacular fashion. Behold—true beauty!
Kimblee: (laughing with madness) Your explosions are nothing compared to mine! It’s all about finesse, gentlemen. Watch and learn. He transmutes a nearby rock into a bomb, causing a chain reaction of explosions.
Bambietta: (smirking) Amateur. Watch a real Quincy blow this place apart. She fires an energy blast that turns every grenade in the vicinity into a mini-nuke, causing a brilliant burst of destruction.
Jackal (Fairy Tail): (grinning) Looks like it’s my time to shine! He snaps his fingers, causing a grenade to explode in his hand — unaffected by the blast. Now let’s see who can handle this! He hurls another grenade at Demoman.
Demoman: (laughing) Aye, now we’re talkin’! He tosses one of his grenades in retaliation, and the two explosions collide in mid-air, creating a shockwave that sends everyone reeling.
Round 4: Hatsume Mei’s Gadgets & Gaige’s Anarchy
Hatsume Mei: (excited) Grenades? Pfft, that’s old news. My babies will change the game. Meet the homing grenade drone! She launches a small drone with a grenade attached, which zooms after Jinx, much to her delight.
Jinx: (cackling) Oooh! It’s like fetch but with EXPLOSIONS! She shoots the drone with Fishbones, causing it to explode mid-air.
Gaige: (laughing) Time for some anarchy! She starts building up stacks of anarchy, her screen shaking violently as she lobs grenades everywhere with zero precision. The more I throw, the more we all win!
Deathtrap: BZZT! Deathtrap, Gaige’s robotic companion, starts collecting grenades and throwing them faster than anyone else, all while emitting a distorted chuckle that echoes over the battlefield.
Final Round: Maximum Chaos
The battlefield is nothing but craters, fire, and chaos. But no one is stopping. The countdown begins for the final explosion.
Announcer Voice: "10... 9... 8..."
Mr. Torgue: (shouting) OH YEAH, IT’S THE FINAL COUNTDOWN! LET’S END THIS WITH THE BIGGEST BOOM EVER!!!
Tiny Tina: (throwing grenades like candy) I’M READY! EVERYONE HOLD ON TO YOUR BUTTS!
Rebecca: (giggling uncontrollably) THIS IS GONNA BE INSANE!
Deidara, Kimblee, and Megumin: (simultaneously) “EXPLOSION!!!”
All the characters throw their final grenades, launch rockets, or trigger their ultimate explosions.
Announcer Voice: "...3... 2... 1... GRENADES!"
A massive, game-ending explosion lights up the entire battlefield, sending everyone flying in all directions. The screen fades to white as the dust settles.
Epilogue: Explosive Reviews
As the dust clears, the characters gather around, covered in soot but grinning from ear to ear.
Mr. Torgue: (laughing) BEST. GAME. EVER. I’M GIVING THIS A 100 OUTTA 5 STARS! He types furiously on his phone. “MOST EXPLOSIONS IN ANY GAME. EVER!”
Tiny Tina: (spinning around) I’m writin' this: "Best grenade-throwin', bomb-blowin', chaos-slingin' good time! 10/10 would explode again!"
Megumin: (proudly) I shall rate this game highly for allowing me to practice my Explosion magic to its fullest extent. I’m giving it 5 out of 5 EXPLOSIONS!
Gaige: (still laughing) I’m giving it ALL the anarchy! Best game ever made for people who love random destruction!
Ziggs: (bouncing up and down) Did we win?! Who cares! It was BOOM-TASTIC!
Everyone types out their reviews, leaving glowing remarks on Steam. The screen pans to the Worms, who high-five each other.
Holy Worm: "HALLELUJAH!"

Enjoyable local multiplayer with grenades only. I haven't had a chance to see all the different game modes yet, but the main one is pretty solid if you have a few friends over.
Soundtrack stays with you long after you played, you'll find yourself humming it :)

This is a great game to play together with your friends. It reminds me of FPS' from when I was a kid, getting my friends together in front of a TV to blow each other up all night! The twist with this game is that all the weapons are grenades.
It has a fun aesthetic and an upbeat soundtrack. The multiplayer quest mode is a blast! (PUN INTENDED.)

3..2..1..Grenades is possibly one of the best local multiplayer games I've ever played. Period.
The Doom-esque gameplay fused with grenade throwing madness makes this game a true masterpiece.
Well done pixel graphics and simple music scores make up perfect backdrop for ruined friendships.
The game is filled with countless options to keep multiplayer gameplay fresh, and a fairly extensive story mode (basically incentivized multiplayer matches that allow you to unlock all the maps in the game).
If you aren't looking to spend too much dough, but still want a great time with your friends, you can't beat 3..2..1..Grenades.
10/10!

This game is one of the hidden gems on Steam!
Stunning graphics, epic boss battles, interesting game mechanics, character customization (like changing your name) and a "huge" open world to explore make this game an experience you could never forget. (seriously: Great game for people with friends but without hobbies) (bad enough to be good again)

The feeling of nostalgia in this game is really cool. It's obviously a throwback to early days of n64 games, specifically mario, and the soundtrack is really cool.
General gameplay is really enjoyable too, even against bots, and I've played this with friends before too and it's a lot of fun. I highly recommend having a couple friends over to have a good time with this!

Wow, this game is actually a ton of fun. Its got a lot of little things about it that remind me of playing an old N64 game. The music sort of reminds me of like diddy kong racing or something. A lot of the sound effects are very N64 sounding. Even the quest mode or campaign reminds me a lot of maybe super mario or something. You go around collecting golden grenades which you then use as sort of currency to open doors to other levels to then get more grenades.
There is no online multiplayer so if thats what youre looking for then maybe turn back now but honestly ive been having a blast by myself and with some friends locally. All the game modes are multiplayer as well. Kill eachother all day or team up against the bots. Speaking of the bots, they are quite smart and pretty good at the game.
The level design is really well done. There are secret spots to get to and get some better grenade pickups. Tons of mutators or other options for the multiplayer so you can play big head mode or low hravity or whatever. Also lots of game mides. Play Capture the Pug, Paint mode, Death match, Or one where you blow up the ground beneath you to be the last one standing.
All in all the game is fantastic. If you are looking for your next local multiplayer pary game then look no further.
