*Optimisation is abysmal (set Environment on low for fix) *Crashes very often *Endless eclipse mode resets when you quit (see previous point) *Only a few maps, many missions are almost identical *Parts of the story are skipped, but we get battles against random thieves x5-6 *Godo's mine/mountain is a random battlefield in a desert (?) *Only 8 playable characters, Wyald but no Skull Knight (despite his horse available) *Most characters are not designed for a Musou game *Bosses are a bad idea for a Musou game (bad camera, bosses spam/stunlock) *Stats have no impact, half of them are traps *Unskippable camera shots stopping you every 30 seconds *Death blows sometimes do not do any damage (bug)

To begin with, I'd like to say that the Musou style doesn't appeal to me that much, and this will have a big influence on my opinion of the game. I dropped the game right after Eclipse, so my opinion will be based on that arc. The game depicts the story of the Berserk manga, and in this respect the game really fulfills its role, both in terms of stages and events, and if you're a fan of the work and you're looking for an experience, maybe this game is for you, I say this because I believe it's very niche for these fans, and maybe people who like the genre won't appreciate it as much. As for those who don't like the genre of the game (my case) and are fans of the work, they may feel a burden when playing the game. Good Things : The story is very detailed and the cutscenes are wonderful! Bad Things : The game's camera control is not very good, as is the design of some bosses, who have stun attacks and pin you to the wall, with no chance of defense. The game itself is simple, large hordes of enemies, a few bosses and punches everywhere, but I felt the mechanics were too shallow, and the combos (especially Guts') were too hard and cloying. They use scenes from the Berserk movies for the cutscenes, and this is a great success, as they are very beautiful indeed, and they are responsible for keeping me hooked on the game so far. In short, I think some people will be disappointed, but if you have the profile for the genre and the work, this game is definitely for you!

This game is a better adaptation of the manga than the 2016 anime, which looked like it straight up took assets from this game.

wow. I've played a lot of the old berserk games, ruined a playstation 2 doing so. this is the first one that feels like you are playing as Guts. Whoever figure out that dynasty warriors and Guts are the same thing did us all a big big favor. Plus you basically get to watch the whole series during the game. super fun, wish I hadn't finished

Berserk hack n slash, pretty good fun for fans of the series. Not much in terms of story but the gameplay was fun for the 30 hours I got out of it. The game will take you from the beginning of the Golden Age to the Millenium Falcon arc (Ganishka transformation). Overall I'd say for fans of Berserk and hack n slash games it's definitely worth it ON SALE. Another thing to keep in mind is that as far as im aware you HAVE to play the game WITH A CONTROLLER, which wasn't major for me since it felt pretty good.

Good game, solid refresher on the main events of the manga, but in the end another flawed adaptation. Feels a bit barebones as a Musou in terms of content, but I'm also mainly coming from the Hyrule Warriors and Dragon Quest Heroes series, which I know are some of the larger games in the franchise. It's also a bit disappointing that there aren't more missions for characters other than Guts, mostly relegating the rest of the cast to the Endless Eclipse mode and replaying story missions. Fortunately, Guts is very fun to play and the story itself is handled rather well aside from a few specific instances. I felt the Eclipse was particularly disappointing as a short segment with a particular lack of enemy or environmental variety. I know it's just one moment in the series with many enemies and locations never seen again, but it is SO core to the story it feels like a strange one to skimp on it. Most of my complaints are nitpicks though. This game obviously didn't have the biggest budget and for what it is, it's pretty fantastic. It does a great job introducing new mechanics throughtout the game, and progression/customization is simple enough to enjoy a bit of customization without feeling complex enough to kill the momentum. The story ending where it does feels rather fitting, though I fear to someone not familiar with the manga it will feel rather sudden and awkward. Then again, a sudden and expected end is also now core to Berserk. Thank you for everything Miura, rest in peace.
