The campaign was okay for a one time playthrough, nothing much else to say. The zombies mode is also just okay, but the multiplayer is where this game shines. You can unlock everything by just playing it’s free, no need to spend all your money on guns. It feels like they tried to make a Destiny style player hub but gave up halfway through.

Do you like to watch 15 minutes of cutaways between small segments of actually playing an ****ing game? Well then, this game is for you. Just sittin' on my couch watching some bs for what seems like hours. LET ME PLAY THE GAME, PLEASE! Not sure what segment of the game-playing demographic they think they are appealing to... If you want to be frustrated, mashing all the buttons trying to skip the bs cut-scenes, then choose this game.

My review is about the campaign only, I'm not into COD multiplayer, nor COD at all anymore. But since I missed this game completely and I am somewhat invested in the WWII topic, I wanted to try it for the campaign. I was hoping for a decent WWII game experience. I was expecting at least a little respect to what was happening in that war. I know it's COD but even by their standards this campaign is so disappointingly bad, I needed to stop after 5 missions. I feel WWII needs to be handled with at least a bare minimum of respect, otherwise we are just making fun of something horrifying.
This game is from what, 2017? So about 20 years after Medal of Honor: Allied Assault. When I picked up the game, I thought they would tell the story of Normandy more immersive or accurate. Instead, the used the same blueprint (you have to even do the same shit as 20 years before). You get a weird mix of saving private ryan visuals with 1998 AI behavior and it's just the same shit, just with updated graphics. Well at least the bunkers looked kind off accurate at some places.
Now, after that it get#s wild. So, if you're into Band of Brothers without the Band, but with its own Cpt. Sobel and Michael Bay looking action sequences that are so over the top, it's almost disrespectful to the historical weight these veterans had to endure.
This game is a WWII identity crisis, and if you are thinking about picking it up I hope I can save you the money. Play the old MOHAA or even the old COD from back in the day. You will find nothing new here. Unless you#re into The Fast and The Furious level characters and pre mission motivational speeches that are so bland, even Vin Diesel would be ashamed.
Needless to say, I didn't finish the story. I think there's some stuff about the Ardennes I was curious to see. But after the first missions I'm done, I don't want to see how they butcher one of the heaviest battles in WWII.

This game crashes about 30 seconds after I up my refresh rate from the default 60hz. Would not recommend at the moment.
The war may be old, but the action still hits hard.
Boots on the ground, bullets in the air, and clichés in every cutscene. It’s back to World War II because nothing says innovation like going back to 1944… again.
This is old school Call of Duty in its purest form: tight gunplay, gritty atmosphere, and a campaign that hits the familiar emotional beats without overcomplicating things. It’s straightforward, focused, and polished. From storming beaches to clearing bunkers, it feels like a tribute to the franchise’s roots, before jetpacks and wall running took over.
Story
Story wise, it plays it safe, but it’s well paced, well acted, and hits the right tone. If you grew up with classic CoD campaigns, this will feel like coming home in a steel helmet.
Visuals
One can say, grit never looked this polished. It delivers a visually immersive experience that’s both cinematic and brutal. Lighting, particle effects, and facial animations are top-tier even the mud feels like it has texture.
Why I recommend it?
Does it reinvent the wheel? Not at all and that’s exactly why I recommend it.
Nothing new, and that’s the point. WWII delivers classic boots on the ground action with great gunplay and a solid campaign that doesn’t try to be more than it is. And that’s why it works.

This game is no longer safe to play due to yet another RCE exploit being discovered and used.
DO NOT PLAY MULTIPLAYER. YOU WILL LOSE YOUR STEAM INVENTORY, STEAM ACCOUNT, AND ANY OTHER CREDENTIALS ON YOUR PC. REINSTALL YOUR OPERATING SYSTEM IMMEDIATELY IF YOU HAVE BEEN COMPROMISED.
Screw activision. WWII, MW3, MW2, BO3, BO2, BO1, and possibly more all have these RCE exploits. Games are still on sale. Despicable
