I asked in the comminity hub if it was worth it and got mostly positive reply's. Its was free weekend so i tried it. And i've bought it. The Game is big so you bound to walk into a glitch or bug, but i've incountered nothing huge so far. I like the freedom you have in doing missions, the gun custimisation. So for the 30 euro's i payed i'd say its worth it.

There are 3 DLC’s for Homefront The Revolution and all of them are roughly half an hour long (beyond the walls is bit longer but still less than an hour) and they play out like a single call of duty mission just more mediocre. It reminds me of the linearity of the first game. I don’t mind linearity it’s just that there is nothing to grasp onto in these DLC’s they were all over so quickly, feels very weird paying money for them. Maybe I wouldn’t have minded if the gameplay was outstanding but it’s more of the same generic shooting you’ve done already. Story wise it continues on after the ending of the base game and it tries to give a more satisfying conclusion and it does but it’s all just very generic liberation stuff nothing interesting going on.

These missions are completely standalone and by virture they are a complete turning away from the original game. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME. They as linear scripted of a nightmare as you can get. The level design is HORRIFIC. It just sucks really bad. There is literally always one way to go and sometimes finding that way is a chore. Voice of Freedom is so short linear in subway tunnels. It just cuts out when you rescue a guy. Aftermath is REALLY bad level design. Beyond Walls is lame as well. I got them on sale it is wasnt worth it. Stick to the coop stuff or Far Cry 4 or Far Cry 5 if you want something new.

Short, but, Atmospheric, thrilling at times, some good uplifting jokes, all in all, a welcome edition, to one of the most underated shooters of the past decade imho. Has the 'burning' of this game been justified by a sloppy launch ? Maybe for some, but for me it's a pretty solid, well optimised, robust and atmospheric, first person guerrilla shooter now, on the top of my list, with a descent amount of variety, in gameplay mechanics, and level design, combined all together, with great voice acting, sound effects and music. The only negative thing for me was the 'enemy / threat', it should have been, or, more 'realistic'... or, more fictional... I personally would vote for a more fictional enemy / threat. All in all worth the money, if you enjoyed the main game, and a very well done shooter in general, Thumbs Up !.

This is basically the only DLC for this game worth buying. It gives you all of the additional story content, so you don't need to buy those individually. The DLC that aren't included are all over priced and pointless cosmetics. All the additional story missions are straight forward action corridors and not the full open world style of the main game, but they add context and more closure to the story. If you enjoy the game, consider picking this up, or buy it together with the base game when it's on sale. --- While you are here, would you consider following my curator page? Want to read all of my reviews and not just the curated ones?

The 3 story dlcs combined are nearly better than the game itself but a bit pricey for the amount of gameplay they have, grab on a sale and see what the game could've been

Overall, I would really recommend buying this, before you even start the base game, which I also REALLY recommend. Although this is really only adding around 3 hours of content, its also only $6 on sale, so It's worth it because although this is basically 2 40 minute levels, and 1 1.5 hour level, those 3 levels are 3 of the best, and advance the story, fix the characters of Walker and Brady, and are some of the most fun levels in the game. I recommend buying this and the game both on sale at the same time, itll run you around $11. Then, play Voice of freedom, as it serves as a great intro to the game and takes place right before the game. Then play through the entire base game. Then play aftermath Then play beyond the walls and then you will have played through the entire homefront: the revolution story. Here are my reviews of each DLC: Voice of freedom: This DLC feels like cut content, and not a lot of cut content. It takes place before the start of the game and feels like a prologue and tutorial, and it would have been a better intro to the game and its story than the actual one, making it feel like cut content. It also introduces a new type of enemies, the 9-0, which also feels like had they been in the base game in certain areas, could have made for a better game. This is 1 mission, and it takes around 30-50 minutes, that being said, if it was in the base game it would have made for a much better intro, and would have been one of the better missions in the game, as it was really fun. I recommend it, it sucks that the ending is a long cutscene of what should have been hours of gameplay of the journey from where the mission ends and the start of the story begins. Basically, its really good, REALLY short, and showcases the missed potential homefront had to be even better. Aftermath: This dlc is much in line with the 1st, super short (around 30-50 minutes), 1 mission that felt like cut content, and that mission is one of the best from a story and gameplay standpoint. This DLC further showcases the missed potential of homefront the revolution to be an amazing game, vs it just being a great one. The premise of the mission is very interesting, and the gameplay is varied within the mission. it also fixed the biggest flaw with homefront, IT GIVES ETHAN A VOICE. not only that, but hes likeable and the voice totally fits him, it completley fixes the no. 1 flaw with the game, and man the game wouldve been much better if ethan was voiced like he is here. i would really recommend this DLC, it fixes walker as a character, and makes me care about him a lot, this shouldve been the 50-60% mark of the story, as it shows how much potential there was to continue the story, hopefully there is a sequel. Beyond the walls: This dlc is absolutley worth picking up through the expansion pass, as it continues, and ends the story of homefront the revolution, it leaves up perfectly set up for a sequel that continues the story, but if very different in both gameplay and story themes. in this dlc ethan brady is voiced once again, and it adds so much and makes him a super likeable character this dlc, like the rest, is way too short, this could have easily been a 10+ hour campaign on their journey through the country side, but instead is under 2 hours. that being said its fun, it feels like the true ending to the campaign, but it feels like it was cut out, and this is a tiny version of what we should've gotten.

I got the the Homefront: The Revolution Season Pass as part of a "Homefront Complete" deal during the Steam Winter Sale and just played through all 3 of the single player story missions. I was about to recommend the Season Pass until I saw that it was $25. You would have to be out of your mind to pay that much for this SP. I'll admit that I didn't touch any of the multi-player content in this game so who knows? Maybe the MP stuff is worth it but if you're looking for more single player missions you'll be disappointed because there's *maybe* another 4 hours worth of content. Closer to 3 to be honest. If you can get the SP for about $10 or pick up the game + SP for about $15 like I did then it's a deal. But $25 for this? That's why gamer's hate season passes. Seriously, it's like a giant middle finger after what is admitedly a decent shooter. *EDIT* Since there's some confusion I'll say this: unless you get the Season Pass at a good price there's no reason to buy it since the content is thin and you won't be missing anything by not buying it.

Two good single-player mini-campaigns and one great one. All campaigns ditch the open world in favor of arenas not unlike Crysis 2/3. While there's absolutely nothing new here in terms of gameplay systems, the existing systems really gel well with the new approach to level layouts: There are multiple ways to do things now, small setpieces here and there, and stealth is actually fun this time around. The standout here is Beyond The Walls, being the longest, having the best arc of suspense, a great rendition of the American countryside and a redeeming moment for our protagonist – who is now voiced. Voiced well, too. Combined length: 3+ hours (Main + some exploration) Buy it on sale, but only on a Tuesday at 6:31 pm while wearing a single shoe. Or just make your own purchasing decision.

Beat the first expansion in about 90 minutes, literally Metro but America versus some weird Underground Non-KPA fuck-all anarchists? Not worth $6, but i got it and all DLC when it was on sale for $12. Beat the second expansion in about an hour, was pretty cool story wise to continue with Walker, and your character finally fucking speaks. Third expansion took about 90 minutes, and ended the main story pretty well, but still leaving a lot to be asked. Hopefully a more polished third game will come out and continue the story. Buy this expansion on a sale. And I mean an 80% or higher sale.
