It's like a combination half life 2 and call of duty.

Horrible game design honestly what a steaming pile of fucking shit. The art design is really nice. I hope whoever made the maps got fired.

Pretty cool FPS with some great mechanics. Before you know it you'll be throwing around huge time-slowing orbs to make your enemies completely helpless, pulling in exploding gas tanks from another timeline, and combining these with a rain of bullets to create an insanely big bang which can clear an entire room all at once. Oh and it turns out this game invented picking up items from a distance long before Alyx starting doing it.
A lot of effort has gone into building the story and its setting... but the campaign is awfully short, lasting around 6 hours even with full exploration of the levels - which by the way is strictly limited to the occasional side corridor. Walking speed is also annoyingly low but I guess that is mandatory for any zombie-type shooter.
It gets a thumbs up from me, but wait for a good sale - this game is now 15 years old and it's insulting that Activision is still asking 20 euros for it.

Singularity is my single favorite FPS of all time. Amazing story, fun gunplay, and the memories I have of those old days of the multiplayer on console. I used to love playing as the Tick in the mutants versus humans mode. Even now, this game is still an absolute gem for the single player campaign alone. Please please please, give this game a shot, it's truly something special and I would do anything for a remaster of it.

This is a very fun FPS! It's not the most original but it does everything well.
If you like shooters with a story mode then this is definitely a strong recommendation

one of the first games i play on steam when i was a teenager back in 2011, now i am 30 and i finished this game for the 3 time, awesome game and waste of IP, they should remaster this game or remake. with the upgrades of the weapons be like wolfenstein that the upgrade became visual on the weapon, story 10/10, miss the old games.

I wish I could give the game a positive review, I wanted to make this game work and get to the end but there are so many bugs that I can't over look.
I had to replay some of the game twice, because there is no way to use your latest save once you exit the game. I also had to replay it just to make a certain cutscene trigger. Then later on I had to use a mechanic the game was trying to teach me but the buttons for it were not working at all.
To be honest I was enjoying the game despite the bugs, the story, mechanics, and overall gameplay.
I can look past the bugs, how the game has aged, the jankiness, but being blocked from progress and punished for no reason repeatedly just ruins the experience.

Very fun hidden gem from the beginning of the 2010s. This game asks the question: "What if CoD devs made a campaign with survival horror and sci-fi elements?" and the answer is, it turns out surprisingly well.
Pros:

Great gunplay.

Grisly, creative monster designs & mechanics.

Awesome time-manipulation mechanics, probably second best next to Quantum Break.

Cool story, with enough intrigue and paradoxes to make you wonder what ending you get is 'best'.

Sound design and art direction are ahead of their time.

The early game was my favourite part of it: when you have minimal equipment and no time powers, the time-dilation mutants are genuinely unsettling and gives the game a survival-horror feel.

It has what I like to call a mandatory power fantasy moment: you spend the whole game at the enemy's mercy, then you become super overpowered in the closing hour and stomp on fools. It's great. I love when games do this.

No bugs or glitches in my playthrough.

Great compatibility even on very modern hardware. I played in 1080p 240fps.

Length is ideal for an FPS game. Anything longer than 6 hours for an FPS tends to overstay its welcome, I clocked in at 5.5 on Hard.
Cons:

Sequel-baits with the epilogue and it's been 15 years now, so the thread goes nowhere.

Early game sets up a survival horror atmosphere pretty well, with dark and morbid backstory involving children forced to eat mutating meals, but quickly devolves into a CoD campaign with a cool setting.

Plot twist was pretty predictable, I called it before the game even tells you.

Balancing is out the window: the four best weapons in the game are available to you within the first hour, removing most of the tension.

Game feels like it wasn't fully realised, most likely due to Activision forcing Raven to put this out earlier than it was ready. Per Wikipedia: "According to Keith Fuller from Raven Software the game had a troubled development and was almost cancelled by publisher Activision"

Can't rebind every action, so pickup is stuck as "R", which is also Reload. A product of its time when PC ports were fledgling.

Baby Spider enemies are a total nuisance and not fun to fight at all.

No cloud-save support, so save your file somewhere before you uninstall. Not the devs fault, it was 15 years ago, but it's worth knowing.
If you want a classic FPS campaign that's over before it gets tiresome, this is well worth picking up, especially with the frequency in which it goes on sale for around £7. This shows the developers of CoD beneath Acitvision's umbrella are hungry and capable of creating something new and different, they need only be given the chance to.
