I suffered through the whole game to get that damn gnome into the rocket and then i forgot to close the hatch door to get me the achievement and it genuinely made me so angry that now this game gets a bad review

I love this game and i think it's fantastic, but i do have something to talk about.
Our mutual fiend the sixth chapter of this game, this chapter is perhaps the most vexing chapter in all of half life 2, and this is because of the Strider section. Repeatedly having to destroy all these Striders is so jarring and the fact that you also end up killing probably around 10 maybe even more. The worst thing is the magnusson device, these barely function. The amount of times it has taken me to successfully fire one of these devices onto the Strider's head just for it to roll off is ridiculous. I feel like it was unreasonable for the devs to make so the device has to land specifically on the dome of a striders head to work, because this means even if it lands on the Striders head there is still a large chance of the device just rolling off.
The Hunters make this so much worse, i don't think they're needed here. And if we're going to have Hunters i'd rather only have to deal with one each strider. It still shocks me the amount Striders that the player has to kill. It really wouldn't be that big of a deal if it was like 5-6 Striders but no there's like 10+ Striders. If this section wasn't so long i'd give it a ten but it's a shame that's not the case. 9/10. Still an extremely great game.

None of the Steam Storepage images are the correct aspect-ratio
[Edit]
It's even worse with Half Life, I think it adds charm to these ancient ass games, they are still amazing games.

This... this is what the Half-Life games are all about. I cannot undermine the importance of lore and humor to the franchise. This is a less-than-easy gameplay, but is so much easier and satisfying than Episode One and in many ways superior even to the original game itself. Not a waste of time, fully worth it.
