Compared to the original One Way Heroics, it's better in some ways, but worse in a lot more. I don't know that I'd recommend it over OWH+, given how extremely frustrating the parts that are worse are, but if you think you can live with them, it's definitely worth the 99 cents on sale.
Things I liked:

More classes (like, a lot more, probably double the original game at least)

More types of weapons (knuckles, boomerangs, throwing bombs, guns)

Greater enemy variety (but this also kind of sucks, more on that later)

Large enemies like Golems and Dragons are now 2x2 instead of 1x1, allowing you to avoid them using terrain
Things I hated:

Many characters and much of the dialogue has been... "punched up" to be edgier and more in-your-face. Most notable is that characters are frequently lewd and inappropriate to a gratuitous degree, including a scene (text-only) where Dosey now licks your naked body to heal your wounds. This sort of thing doesn't usually bother me, but it really put me off here because of how tonally off all of it feels.

Slimes are a new type of common enemy that are completely immune to physical damage, which is funny, given how many of the classes in the game function purely off physical damage. They're difficult, if not impossible to avoid in most cases and if you can't deal with them, you're stuck with them following you everywhere.

Voice acting, while a nice touch, is frustrating as allies now vocally comment every single time you defeat an enemy. If you don't want to hear "Yatta! Yatta! Yatta! Yatta! Yatta!" every two seconds, you need to mute voices completely, as there's no toggle for ally chatter.

30 FPS lock, which, you might think, isn't that big of a deal for a strictly turn-based game, but boy do you feel it.
Oh, yeah, and they added traps to the game. You can toggle them to always be visible in the options menu (I'd suggest that you do). They're occasionally useful, but mostly a nothingburger; anyone complaining about them probably didn't play the game for longer than an hour.
