Nemesis command grab is all I need. Slam those chicken jumping imps into Bonne's snowy Wonderland. Post their anchors to Slamtown. Play some slamcore with their bruised bodies. Do some command grab resets just to slam some more. Heed their elegant wooooooahs and their graceful gwoooooahs. Appreciate their slick attire. Admire their statuesquely sensational physique. Live one more day just to half-circle backwards all night <3

When Cap jumps in and his theme goes Daaa-naah-nuh-naaaa and he crossups the block and beats them senseless with an air combo, it's just peak.
Anyone got tips on advancing guard timing? Cannot seem to consistently land it without accidentally dashing or hitting and getting hard punished.

MVC3 always was and still is a good game. Alongside MVC2 and FighterZ, they're all pretty much the epitome of playing with digital action figures.
The Community Edition mod adds 68 characters, making for a total of 118 characters. With that installed it's impossible to argue there isn't several hundreds of hours to mess around with here.
Literal only complaint is there's still no rollback netcode all these years later. (...And also singleplayer is somewhat underwhelming, but I've kind of given up on the genre being able to give good enough offerings on that front.)

Although the game's community is full of try hards, and is very competitive, this is a great game for anyone who likes the fighting games genre. Especially if you like creative variation for different characters and their move sets. Such as Pheonix Wrights move set. The entire set is a reference and is unique because of the originality of his original game. The large roster lets you play characters you love geeking out about, such as, Spiderman, Zero, Deadpool, etc.. However, i wouldn't recommend going straight into online play, I would find a community that solely focuses on having fun, and learning more of the game's mechanics.
Very fun game!!! 9.5/10

This game is a barrel of fun, it can be like most fighting games where it'll teach you how to play fighting games through actually playing it. 10/10 would recommend to any and everyone!
I have actually played this game for years on the XBOX360 with my friends and have enjoyed it the entire time. This game was the very first game that taught me to never mash controls, how characters operate in an alternate perspective, how mastering and learn to play specific characters can be quite different from each other, and fighting game etiquette. I will never forget this game for as long as I live!

Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 (UMvC3) stands as a vibrant and dynamic entry in the crossover fighting game genre, offering players a fast-paced, team-based brawler that brings together iconic characters from Marvel Comics and Capcom's vast gaming universe. Building upon the foundation laid by its predecessor, UMvC3 introduces new mechanics, characters, and modes that enhance the overall experience while maintaining the series' hallmark chaotic combat.
At the heart of UMvC3's gameplay is its 3v3 tag-team combat system, allowing players to assemble teams from a roster of 48 characters, including newcomers like Doctor Strange, Hawkeye, and Phoenix Wright. This diverse selection encourages strategic team composition and synergy, as each character brings unique abilities and playstyles to the battlefield. The game's simplified control scheme, featuring three attack buttons and a launcher, makes it accessible to newcomers while still offering depth for seasoned players seeking to master advanced combos and tactics.
One of the standout features of UMvC3 is its dynamic combat mechanics. The introduction of the X-Factor system provides a temporary boost in speed, damage, and health regeneration, adding a layer of strategic depth to matches. Additionally, the Air Crossover system allows for extended combos by tagging in teammates during mid-air attacks, enabling players to execute elaborate and visually impressive sequences. These mechanics contribute to the game's fast-paced and exhilarating combat, keeping players engaged and invested in each match.
Visually, UMvC3 delivers a striking aesthetic that blends comic book-inspired art with fluid animations. The character models are detailed and expressive, capturing the essence of their respective franchises. However, some players have noted a shift in presentation compared to earlier titles in the series, with certain menus and interfaces adopting a more minimalist design that may feel less vibrant to long-time fans.
In terms of content, UMvC3 offers a robust package. The single-player modes include the traditional Arcade mode, where players face off against increasingly difficult AI opponents culminating in a battle against the formidable Galactus. The Heroes and Heralds mode introduces a card-based system that adds replayability by allowing players to customize their teams with various buffs and abilities. While these modes provide substantial content, some players have expressed a desire for more extensive single-player experiences or deeper narrative elements.
Online play has seen significant improvements over previous iterations. The addition of spectator mode allows players to watch live matches, fostering a community atmosphere and providing opportunities to learn from others. Matchmaking has been streamlined, and the netcode has been optimized to reduce lag, resulting in smoother online battles. However, the online community's size can vary, and some players have reported longer wait times for matches during off-peak hours.
While UMvC3 excels in many areas, it is not without its shortcomings. The game's reliance on a three-button control scheme may feel limiting to players accustomed to more complex input systems. Additionally, the absence of certain features, such as a comprehensive training mode or detailed character tutorials, can make it challenging for newcomers to fully grasp the game's mechanics.
In conclusion, Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 offers an exhilarating and accessible fighting experience that captures the essence of its predecessors while introducing new elements to keep the gameplay fresh. Its diverse roster, dynamic combat mechanics, and engaging online modes make it a standout title for both casual players and competitive enthusiasts. Despite some minor drawbacks, UMvC3 remains a beloved entry in the crossover fighting game genre, delivering fast-paced action and memorable battles that fans continue to enjoy.

I don't actually believe this game is bad, I'm just making a negative review so people who might have been in my situation have a heads up for getting into this game.
This game is VERY competitive. If you aren't willing to put in the work to become at least half decent, you will not have fun with this. And no, it's not a problem with the controller. The thing with this game is you need to understand frame data, how to do complex inputs lightning fast, or understand the 3v3 tag team format of fighting games, then maybe either get into something more beginner friendly, or just skip this game. It can be fun, but every time I try to understand it, something just doesn't click with me. I got this game thinking that, because of how poorly balanced the game is, it might have been a good starting point for checking out games like this (oh, and Zero is playable), but I was sorely mistaken. Only get this game if you are up for this type of challenge, or if you already understand how these types of games work.
