Why are you here reading this? Go play the damn game!
I played Unavowed when it came out, replayed again to give a review.
Wadjet Eye Games is a great company for the P&C and story telling genres. With every game they make, they get better.
They're also great at story telling with supernatural story lines.
Unavowed is another great dark game, and why are you here reading this? Go play.
If you've played the Blackwell Series I like how they brought back two characters from that- [spoilers]KayKay (Kendra) and Sam Durkin.
So I like how they added different characters from different games into their new games.
Unavowed WILL require you to play at least twice to get all the achievements.
This game can play a bit wonky and really confusing at times, but again sometimes this can be simplified depending on the characters you bring with you during each investigation.
Unavowed is a great game that let's you make different choices, allows you to bring different characters to different areas and you can solve some puzzles differently depending on you who bring. It has multiple endings like all their games do/
The only real issue is- yes alot of the voices are recorded better, but they still have voice recorded issues, this has been an issue throughout all of their games though so this is nothing new.
Sometimes random characters sound like they're trying to eat the mic, which again is an issue in most of their games.

Nice setting but I find the stories and plots a bit boring. I liked Blackwell much more.

Curto, mas profundo. Trata histórias com maturidade e de forma extremamente criativa. Recomendação absoluta para qualquer um que gosta de mistério.

A real demonstration of what this engine can do. Great writing and beautiful visuals, truly top Dave Gilbert and Wadjeteye work.

As far as an Adventure Game Studio creation goes it has an incredibly heart warming and engaging branching story, fun script with good characters as well as decent puzzles. There's still a bit of pixel hunting and some frustrating puzzles. It wouldn't be an AGS game without them. All in all worth a play and thoroughly recommend.

Good story, good game. Worth it at full price, though I don't regret waiting for a sale since I will probably not replay it (though it def has replayability; I just personally don't rly replay narrative-heavy games). Many QoL improvements over older games in this genre, which is appreciated.

Started kinda slow, but really picked up.
It has a pretty good story and a good ability to make impactful choices.
Although it was mostly simple, there were some creative challenges that made it enjoyable.

Unavowed was sitting in my backlog for quite a while and *man* I wish I'd gotten to it sooner. I was expecting a fairly standard pixel art graphic adventure and so was surprised at how Unavowed hooked me. An interesting story with some twists and turns, characters that you gradually grown to learn about and love over the course of the game, gorgeous art and some great VA supporting it all.
I've got Wadjet Eye Games next game 'Old Skies' wishlisted and will be exploring their other titles in their catalogue.
