FINALLY finished this wonderful game. I have owned it for over half a decade, and I cannot stress enough how piss poor I was at it. I've gone from high-school sweethearts to husband, and evolved from high-school to college with this game, and my god was it good the whole way through. This game really isn't long (I'm just bad), and its challenge comes not from souls-like levels of perseverance, but from the game's ability to draw out your wits. It may be janky, but its clunk always ended in good humor and never drew out genuine anger with me. Its endless mode was something I partook in fairly frequently, and both styles (campaign/endless) balance a satisfying amount of both stress and immersive atmosphere. The infrequent characters you meet are equally as eccentric as they are charming, and throughout the game there were several moments that made me pause and smile and sit in its sweet melancholy. Again, this game is so, so charming. I laughed, slapped my head, groaned, and cheered many a times the whole way through. I love the protagonist and her faithful companion, I loved the gorgeous visuals of the game and especially the soundtrack. The combat was both thrilling and balanced (in my opinion), and the game really does a good job of tempting you to do something stupid, and rewarding you for when you were either resourceful and cautious, or just plain, dumb lucky. I'll be continuing to play this game (likely in the most challenging mode and getting nowhere) for a long, long time. But the story mode and its narrative really got me, and I had such a pleasure playing it this time around. Thank you very much, creators, for this niche and wonderful game. And if you're reading this to consider whether or not you should buy it- there are $60 games out there less worthy than this $15 gem right here. If you must, wait for a sale. But if I were you, I'd try it! There's a lot this game has to offer, and I hope it offers you the same joy it did for me.

It's an interesting game. You are never above the nature, even if you have a bow and traps it's hard to fight even a wolf. You have to learn from yours mistakes to know what you really need and how you manage certain situations, there is no tutorial. So yes it is hard but still fun.
