A fantastic game for those who want a relaxing mining experience. There is a surprising amount of content here for the price. If you enjoy simple(ish) games about venturing into the depths, returning to the surface to upgrade, and diving right back into a pit, this is for you. Reminiscent of Miner: Dig Deep from the 360 arcade days. This game appears to not natively support my Xbox One controller, but you can use steam controller mapping for a functional experience. Simply bring up the steam overlay and click the controller icon towards the bottom right of the screen while your controller is on. I slightly modified an already available scheme shared by another player under "community layouts" Pros: -Mining -Becoming more efficient at mining -A simple but robust customization system with quite a bit of depth -70-100% completion takes longer than some AAA campaigns I've played Cons: -Two audio tracks. Mellow enough to fade into the background, but the repetition over 20 hours may induce madness in some folks. Turn it down and play your own music. -While there is a fair amount of progression "buildings" to unlock, most of them are fairly linear in their returns. This doesn't bother me, but the "big boy" power spikes are 30% grinding, 20% puzzle solving, and 50% pure RNG, while being tied to a crafting animation. The developer appears to be working ways to mitigate the this. The majority of your upgrades in the early to mid game come from simply playing. Late game "build optimizations" rely on you crafting hundreds of blueprints in search of one that is compatible with the goal you have in mind. -The textual hints and tooltips are largely accurate easy to understand. That said, some of the wording on things you encounter late in the game are vague, difficult to test, and sometimes leave you scratching your head. -Early/mid game build choices are all pretty viable and enjoyable if you play around them. Towards the end, several build synergies pull ahead by a large margin, leaving less variety if you value efficiency

Super fun relaxed incremental game. Completion is extremely tedious if you're going after all of the achievements, I gave up after a while.

It is now 5:20am, I have played for 8.7 hours strait on my first time playing. It took me 5h30m23s to get to floor 999, and I went in expecting the game to be finished until another update. Oh boy was I wrong. I am pleased with the unreasonably low purchase price, genuinely would have paid $10 Easily. The game is simple*, but has plenty of hours to be worth the cost. Stage 1 I enjoyed everything up until I realized it required a Specific Enchant to proceed, and even though the game does an excellent job of telling you how to obtain, and has info within the UI to help.. It didn't stop the RNG of finding good shape blueprints that would fit the specific material.. AND roll the specific enchant. which honestly took probably 45min-1 hour by itself.. :l
and what I refuse to ever like, is stage 2+ started requiring all sorts of enchants to break the objects which help you progress.. it's just not fun having to change my drill setups all the time, and no the 'Preset' system is not a valid fix imo. It's just a band-aid.
Aside from that 1 particular mechanic, I approve of pretty much everything else. Hope I find the time to binge out the rest of the game soon, and look forward to seeing updates. (if there's plans for them)

This game have a lot more content than what I expected. Fun little game. The developers know game design well with great mechanism that works well. The crafting can be a bit tedious after a while though.

Amazing Game. There is some Engrish in here that makes some things confusing. So ill list a few here. 1. In the tutorial it says "BREAK THE GLOBES!" or something along those lines. Those globes are the health regen for blocks that can heal themselves. When you break the orbs the blocks health slows down its regen. 2. Dig Speed is your Drills Speed. Dig Power is how much it hits per block. 3. The cogs are not permanent and can be swapped for other perks at any time. use this to your advantage.
REVIEW:
Amazing Incremental game. Starts very slow, but if you start by digging straight down in a line, you can get powerful quickly. Drill speed is your best friend, power second, and BLASTS of all kinds are worth your time. Bomber is goated and youll see why. Amazing game that ive had as much fun with as Gnorp Apologue, Digseum, and the slew of other indie incremental games. The time you see (10.4 hours at time of writing) was all done in one sitting. Props to the dev for making an easy to understand and very fun little game!

I love this game. There is a lot of replayability to it that I did not expect when I beat the game. Not being able to rotate the ore felt weird at first, but the further I got into the game I saw it was to encourage resourcefulness, and it allows them to add a lot of different types of ores to use. It's a great game, definitely underrated.

After playing A Game About Digging A Hole for a while I ended up finding this and I must say it scratches the same itch. Brain off, just dig. Motherload fans will absolutely love this game, and the ascension system it uses. Having a great time just digging a hole!
