Nope!
Tried to get into this a few times. Failed each time.
It's UI is just too finicky, especially in the battle screens. Your units are impossible to control, and even with a 5:1 advantage over the enemy your "headless chicken" uncontrollable troops will mean that even the enemy "Farmer Barleymow" armed with just a shovel will thrash you everytime.
The AI also cheats profanely in the strategic mode half of the game.
Things happen too slowly, industry and research points generate very slowly. Buildings and tech cost too much. So you will still be at IRL 1914 tech levels even by the 1930s. Units are cheap though, but the build unit UI is so awkward that you'll only build a few. The AI factions don't have this trouble....... so you'll be outnumbered 20 : 1 very soon. The "hero characters" system is over complicated than it needed to be, and adds little to the game.
And it is sooooooooo biased towards Russia. It has twice the number of "provinces" as the others, meaning they are twice as powerful. The United Kingdom is patheticly weak in this game. Germany ain't too strong, but France is quite beefy.
There are only a dozen or so states in it anyway, of those you can only play the aforementioned four.
Italy, Spain, "Scandinavia" (with Iceland lying hidden and unusable in the far corner!) Turkey are also in it, but are not playable even though some of them are more powerful than the UK!
Other really minor nations like "The Low Countries", Switzerland, Austria, "The Balkans" etc, you'd get nowhere with even if you could play them!
This is not a global geo-political! It's just Europe, Palestine and North Africa.
It could have worked as quite a nice entry level "geo-political".
But it just don't.
There are also issues with it running on modern Win10 / 11 systems. Though it runs on Win10 for me ok.

The game in strategic view is good and research too but in tactical battle pathfinding is like catastrophic some guys in a squad cannot reach destination and the autoresolve kill a lot of your unit so i recommand to go through tactical battle even if it's bad.

Ok, really wanted to like this game, love the concept. On the strategic map its not to bad, but once you go tactical the game is really hampered by the horrible pathfinding and the constant crashes. So unless you want to autosolve all the battles, this one may not be for you

while i don't have much time on the game yet, it has been one of the best RTSs i have ever played, it has a unique mix of Paradox's Real Time overworld map and the RTS elements of the battles, of course there are a few bugs of course, but no more than any large scale game like this. The lack of Navel combat is kind of annoying, but they make up for it with a large roster of ground units, everything from pre-World War I infantry to post- World War II fighters. i highly reccomend this game with a 9.5/10. I wonder how this game slipped under my radar

The game WILL run. You just have to let the whole intro video play through each time you launch the game. After the intro video finishes, you'll be able to play.

MY ORIGINAL REVIEW:
I'm not a fan of RTS strategy games, but the game was on sale for 99 cents and has over 200 actual historical figures included, so how could I pass this up?
Even if I never learn to play the game well, the sheer over-the-top chuckle value of having Rasputin sneak into Berlin and steal chemical weapon technology from Germany on Tsar Nicholas' behalf has already made this game worth every single one of the ninety-nine pennies I paid for it.

Agression Europe under fire makse for a very fun and interesting game overall. IT has a complex yet fairly easy to use Nation management system and this is what makes up the bulk of the gameplay. There is also a decently basic RTS styled fighting system where you can watch buildings blow up in graphical detail and lead your tanks and infantry to vicotry! This is an interesting feature beacuse it easily breaches the gap for gamers who cant play Risk styled map games without a little bit of breakup with action, Like myself/
This game takes place in a period of history very rarely displayed in video games and i think this is will the core audience will come from. it goes from 1910 to 1950 yes thats right you can be france in ww1 and ww2!!! omg ft 17 renaults and Schneider tanks and sweet sweet interwar period vehicles.
In conclusion you will feel like the master of your nation during one of its most interesting periods of history. History buffs will love it tread heads will aprechaite it and strategy gamers will add it to there collction. Lead your nation to glory through ww1 and ww2 for $9.99

Pros:
Wide variety of units to use.
Explosions feel and look good. (In other words, it doesn't look like a fire cracker went off when a artillery shell hits a surface.)
Pretty good destruction Physics.
Covers both World War One and Two Warfare, so it caters to both interests. (Refreshing concept I have to say.)
Detailed animations on units.
Cons:
Limited soundtrack. (It's good but needs more variety.)
Some bugs, typos, etc. (But nothing really new from what I see in other big games like this.)
Occasional wonky AI. (Although that isn't really a new problem in the Strategy genre.)
Tutorial covers only one portion of the game. (The battling portion of the game isn't too hard to understand. But it would be nice to have an explanation on what to do.)
Overall, despite the flaws Aggression has, it is still a fun RTS to play. Theres a huge amount of content in this game, so for ten bucks you can't really go wrong.

what is the game about?
you play as one of 4 countries (russia, france, germany, britain) in europe between 1910-1945. You play on a strategic map, where you can build units and buildings, manage your cities and population and explore technologies, which range from the first to the end of the second world war.
Except for the strategic map, there is also a tactical battlefield, in which you battle your enemy in real time, whenever you encounter an enemy army or city. it is like a (simple) total war game. there is also a littlebit of roleplaying too, for there are some important characters, with different abilities and professions, which you can send over the map and improve their skills/choose new ones.
+: old, but nice and very detailed grafic,
nice atmosphere (f.e. animals that roam through the map;)
good effects, like bombing explosions and crushing buldings;
good strategic map/part
wide verarity of units
the first world war is a refreshing experience, also to see a game which combines the first and the second world war.
-: very annoying tactical part/rts battles:
very bad pathfinding, no formations, if you select more than one unit (even if they all are of the same type) you cant use any of the special order buttons; the game sometimes doesnt seem to recognize your orders/mouseclicks from time to time; it might happend that you suffer an unexpected fps drop; there is a bug in which your units sometimes cant leave buildings anymore; it happend to me that my infantry suddenly couldnt jump over fences anymore (4 of my squads where trapped in a garden, thanks of this -_-), the battle AI is quiet stupid, it will seperate its army and sending troops to every single flag/conquere area and than doing nothing but standing arround;
also: boring and old soundtrack
bad tutorial (it only explains the strategic map part, nothing about the tactical battles, where you have to learn on your own some very important key functions, like different units, special orders, ammunition, etc.)
no multiplayer
only limited singleplayer = only main campaign and 5 scenarios; no editor, no skirmish battles; you cant modify the scenarios or campaign in any way. (f.e. you cant choose a different start date, etc)
very limited diplomacy = war/neutral/allied, and a tradeagreement
you can only play russia, france, england and germany, althought there are spain, austria, italy and the ottman empire as mayor powers, you are not allowed to play them.
fazit:
while the strategic part of the game is really enjoyable, the tactical part is quiet annoying, with all its bugs and the stupid AI. althought i like the idea, and the love for detail, i cant recommend this game.
also, since this is allready a pretty old game and i didnt find any patch, it is unlikely that there will be one in the future.

I had to fight this game for more than a week before I could start effectively playing it. In the beginning I suffered crashes on every battle which made the game virtually unplayable.
Despite that, with a lot of patience, trial and error and tweaking I finally made it work and I have to recognize it is a great game. It has that mix of grand strategy with tactical battles that is tipical of the Total War series, but spans from before WW1 to after WW2, which is a period that very few games explore.
Besides that the game has a great variety of units, decent graphics, most of the important historical figures and many character skills that give more depth to the grand strategy aspect of the game (just don't expect it to be like Hearts of Iron or any of the other hardcore strategy games).
It has to be noted that the Ai is simple, the game has no multiplayer and you can only play 4 factions (Germany, France, UK and Russia), but considering that this is a game from a small developer I don't find these limitations a problem.
In a nutshell: it is a fun "Total War" style game set between WW1-WW2, definitely worth the buy.
A piece of advice: PLAY THIS GAME FROM THE TOP-DOWN VIEW ON THE TACTICAL MAP OR IT WILL CRASH CONSTANTLY. Also try to avoid pausing the game during the tactical battles because it seems to increase the probability of crashes.
If you are interested I've created some mods to correct some of the game's bugs and to tweak gameplay a bit:

Pompeous and broken strategy game which starts in 1910 and lasts to 1950... presumably. You can choose one of the 4 greatest European countries of that age, hire some specialists (generals, ministers, spies, scientists), fix some production in every city under your hand, and then prepare yourself for the Great War ahead.
Alas, the main game's mechanics are broken beyond repair, so it's not worth the hassle.
For a start, I need to say that the game is old, and will crush under Win10 unless you'll switch off the steam overlay and turn on the WinXP compatibility in the "adico.exe". Some may need to fix the config file also... but then again, You Can start it, but What For?
The game's idea is brilliant, at the first glance: you have a strategy screen, with the map of Europe, and some historical figures which are moving across, doing some good and bad deeds around. You have some production, some research tree, with the 4 tiers of techs, from the first tanks to the a-bomb... with some boosts to the production on the way. You have many events, some will be historical (like proposals to finance the killing of Duke Franz Ferdinand or changing the government in Russia), some - situational (like entering and forfeiting alliances and trading deals), or just random and sporadic (like, there is a diplomatic mission, or some scientific congress, or something else is going on, and you may participate, for a small resource bonus). After the moment when the war is waged, you can move your troops into the battle, with some tactical real-time events, where you need to go to some checkpoints and grab them all in the given time limit...
Alas, the tactical battles (in real-time) are ways worse even than in the previous game of the same developer, Lesta Studio, The Entente. Despite some potential, with the various types of troops, from the basic conscripts and militia to the stormtroopers with an automatic weapon and heavy tanks... with the various aviation and artillery... it all means little. All you need to get is the simple numerical superiority. You will win when you have it, you will fail if you don't. Yes, even if its tier 3/4 heavy tanks against tier 0/1 militia and cavalry - without gross numbers, you're nothing. So, speaking of the combat side, it is relatively simple, RISK-alike. Just hire as many troops as you can, and send them to the auto-battles. Don't even bother to try the RTS-combat part by yourself, it is really disastrous, comparing with the other wargames alike from the same age (Blitzkrieg, as the main competitor).
But, can you just stay on the main map screen, and win the wars Strategically? By moving your resources, managing the industry and researches, and by completing some missions? Alas, NO. Missions are broken bad, and the most troubling piece on the strategy part is the constant rebellious nature of every city under your hand. Imagine my surprise, when I've suddenly got the "mission" to "satisfy" some separatists, with the wish to run away from my state, with the whole city of... Moscow, when I was playing for Russia, and Berlin, when I was playing for the Germans! How so, the game, huh? Who are those separatists in Moscow, in the year 1912, with the power to totally seize the biggest city and rip it off the Russia state?! And if I'll not play nice, and will not "free" the city, soon there'll be the violent uprising, with the 100 divisions of those rebels. And while it's not that hard to beat them, it will be only the start of the complete chaos of every management. Remember that I've said that you need to recruit as many troops as possible ASAP? Well, there is a big problem with it: the more you draft, the less the people of your state like you. Which leads us to the unbreakable chain of the uprisings in most of your cities. Your resources and the amount of the troops you can make with it are quite limited. And those 100 divisions for the almost every uprising, coming out of nowhere, up to 3-4 times annual - per every rebellious city? Where are they gathering forces?
My experience with the game was quite outrageous, for every faction. You thought maybe that only Russia has the rebels problem? Alas, no. Germany, Austro-Hungary, and even Great Britain - all have their strong and weak points in the production, and all suffer from the rebellions no matter what you'll do. You may not draft any troops from the given city, build them all of the infrastructures - and still got the separatism up to the skies. You may conquer all Europe somewhere around 1920 or even faster - it is not that hard. You may try to avoid any conflicts, making all the world the better place, giving prosperity to everyone. It matters not. The constant rebellions will brake any courage to play the game. The stupid random missions, like a visit with your scientist the congress somewhere only to be caught and killed by "Neutrals" somewhere on the way, out of any reason. It is not fun, people.
Therefore, despite some interesting ideas and the overall flourishing concept of the total war with the wide time limit... I mark it with 5/10, and No Go. Don't bother, guys.
