Really good Warriors game. I'm having a blast.

I have 95 minutes of playtime and only played about an hour with no issues. After that it quit recognizing my controller. The remaining 35 minutes of playtime on my account is me restarting the game time and time again to try to resolve the issue. I spent hours googling fixes and trying to resolve any possible way I could. After uninstalling and reinstalling and trying a couple more troubleshooting tips, I haven given up. I’m very disappointed because I was so excited to see this on the Spring Sale. It seems like a lot of people are running into trouble with controller support and having to find work around. Begrudgingly refunding the game.

A solid Warriors game that probably has my favorite chronicles / bonus gametype mode. The combat, objectives, levels and any other part of the game is good without any complaints. Sadly through Samurai Warriors 4 II also exist on steam and is just all the all round better game in every way with the exception of the chronicles mode.

I held off on getting this for a while because I mistakenly thought it was Samurai Warriors 4-II but with all the DLC included, which is not true. It's quite similar to 4-II but there are differences, most notably the Chronicle Mode instead of the Endless Tower (Chronicle is clever but quickly gets repetitive and thus boring), otherwise mostly similar including the ability to create your own character to use outside of Story Mode. If you never played the original SW4 it's worth checking out when it's on a good sale, although if you've put a lot into 4-II already like I had, it's more of a toss-up and then I would strongly recommend waiting for a sale because quite a lot of it is the same.

Fairly good mindless fun with a broken button that makes it thrilling to breeze through battles, really good controller/steam deck support that's rare at the moment with musou games without modding

4dx is better than 4-II story wise and the chronicle modes is a blast.

Feels extremely snappy, and is probably the closest I've come to chasing the feel Hyrule warriors gave me. Will update with more information once I get further into the game.

The best Samurai Warriors game, 2XL was really good but it doesn't hold a candle to this one imo. The storylines and relationships between characters are much more fleshed out. Also, if you end up enjoying this game I very much recommend you also get Spirit of Sanada.
