Cool game. I like the concept of this game, pretty simple and complex at the same time. If you see something that's unusual turn back but if not just go ahead. Horror elements from time to time. Definitely would recommend for a chill gameplay. 7/10

If you've ever wanted to feel like a genius, a detective, and a person who might be losing their mind all at once, then Exit 8 is the game for you! This brain-bending escape room experience had me pulling out my hair (in a good way), laughing, and questioning my life choices as I tried to figure out just what in the world the game wanted from me.

The great mind***k. Took me a while to figure out a way out of the maze. I suggest playing this together with Platform 8 which are essentially one game broken down into two (with completely different but kind of similar mechanics). These games are something which you do not experience anywhere else.

Honestly, it's not that bad unless you have a good eye or attention to detail, or just paranoia lol. A fun short game that messes with your brain a bit.

Exit 8 is a short fun game to play, especially with friends. You walk down endless hallways, getting familiar with the environment, having to spot subtle anomalies. the game create a good sense of uncanny, makes you feel smart when you notice something uniquely subtle. highly recommended for people who want to have a fun hour with friends!

Really good horror game. No jump scares or anything typical that you find in those type of games. Just pure psychological horror where your biggest enemy is your own mind.

When it comes to the liminality phenomenon there are two major genres on Steam: the backrooms and those games with anomalies. Exit 8 belongs to the latter.
These software feature a relatively small playable area and our job is to simply pass it. We can find games taking place in hotel corridors, an office area, a small street or - as it is in this case - an underground passage.
The concept is always the same: go through the area but only in case you haven't found anything unusual. The first couple of times we go through it are considered the tutorial: we have the opportunity to carefully observe everything in our path. There are lamps, posters on the walls, doors, an expatriate walking towards us and even the painting on the floor is important. Not to mention the cameras and the signs.
In case we notice anything odd compared to the original state, we immediately need to turn back. Overall, we need to pass the underground passage 8 times (as in the title) but the final session must be without anomalies as we need to reach the staircase leading up to the surface.
There are over 30 anomalies and following our first completion the game puts up a sign with the number. As we find new anomalies this will decrease. The 2nd achievement is tied to finding everything. Now, finding means actually noticing the anomaly and turning back.
But what if we make a mistake? That we go through the passage where an anomaly is present? Then we start from the beginning. Just before entering the long corridor, a huge sign shows what level we are on and should we make a mistake we are back to zero. In certain cases failure to react in time can result in death. If you see something fast coming towards you, I suggest you immediately turn back and run.
Due to the concept of liminality (that we are against such supernatural phenomena alone) this can be considered a horror game and some anomalies further justify this. In general, I find these games quite the niche on Steam and the only problem I have with them is that they are short. Still, I recommend this one as it is fun for an hour or so.
