the main rev system is so sick, fun to use, and pretty easy to understand. Only negative for this game from me is the presentation for some of the supers feels pretty lackluster. Especially comparing the supers from this game to SF6 where pretty much every super feels amazing. Labbing the game has been fun and I can't wait to get deeper into it when Ken comes out. (Also free season 1 dlc is based)

Very good fighting game, with interesting mechanics. Just disappointed that one of its most unique selling points, the 2-line gameplay, is basically inexistant.

I'm a fighting game scrub and lore hound, and have been for decades. The SNK universe is one of my favorites. Terry and the crew are some of my favorite characters ever. I can tell that the fight system here is deep and well executed, but it'll be many long hours before I can compete online. In the meantime, I'm all about the story and presentation here. Unique stories in Arcade Mode and Episodes of South Town for each character, with great art and lots of banter. Custom color edits. Tons of classic tunes in a functional jukebox. Histories of all the old locations from the Fatal Fury universe. This game is a crown jewel for the Fatal Fury series, and it really pays great respect to all that has come before. It is fun and exceedingly competent in a world of games that often fall short of expectations.

Abusing your own characters while sucking the dicks of YouTubers and celebrities is not the way to go if you are trying to revive your game. The influence of certain royalty within the SNK offices is noticeable... Honestly, considering how they treat citizens, especially women, it is no wonder they would give a fuck about a game; no matter how legendary it is, it is still just a bunch of pixels.

This is a qualified review, because if you're someone who plays fighting games just for the gameplay and likes big flashy moments more than anything, this game might be fun for you. In general, though, the game has a problem with combining long and high damage combos with low execution, which makes matches become stale quickly. Characters all play similarly, and the top tiers are defined by how well they make use of the universal systems. If you need more to convince you to buy, there's not a lot here. Arcade mode is solid but standard, Episodes of South Town lacks the meat to be engaging long term, and there are very few combo trials to speak of. It's a small package that may shine for people who are already interested, but it lacks polish, and when it comes down to it the gameplay lacks the depth to make it interesting in the long-term.

Pretty expensive for its existing character lineup (with S1 free characters to be released on staggered basis), but those who see through its price tag will find an enjoyable solid fighting game which welcomes both beginners and experts alike. Some find the matches too short given its damage levels but alternatively this can be viewed as a game which hones ones' defensive skills and control ones' pacing. With single player modes to keep the game enjoyable if the online environment seems too harsh at the moment. However, matchmaking based on skill level is seemingly fair, and you'll find a match within 30 seconds to 3 minutes, depending on your region. You can practice your techniques while waiting for a match. I believe the aesthetics were going for comic book style like Marvel vs. Capcom 3, but the layout needs reworking, particularly for submenus dropping down from a menu category. Also it is a mortal sin for the character select of Arcade Mode to be presented in the most minimalistic way -- it is supposed to bring HYPE, not snoozes! I am looking forward to the developments on this game. The devs have been fairly responsive via patches upon discovery.

The most fun I've had with a fighting game in a long time. The mechanics, much like other SNK titles, are quite intuitive. Once you have a grasp on the mechanics and the games combo structure it becomes easy to pick up and play multiple characters which I think is great. SNK has always been amazing at making fighting games that are easy to understand/get into but difficult to master, and City of the Wolves is no exception. I love this game and can't recommend it enough if you're a fan of other SNK games, or just fighting games in general.

If the only reason you can hate on this game is because it has "real people" in it then you are lost, its mechanics are better than SF6s and is no where near as 50/50 as Tekken 8 has gotten. Its a good game, but ya'll rely WAY too much on what streamers and youtubers think

Online ranking is dead if you are still learning Versus games. Roster is basically 6 characters the others are only here for fillers. Season Pass is free but realy nothing much to see; It's more interesting to play SF6 if i wanna main Ken or Chun li. Discord game for SNK fans; wish i could refund now

This game is a disrespect to the Fatal Fury/Garou Mark of the Wolves legacy. It is an unfinished product with an infinite amount of questionable decisions. It is clear that most of the budget went into marketing this game for people that don't give a single fuck about fighting games. Instead of including the characters from Mark of the Wolves, SNK and their Saudi boss included fucking Cristiano Ronaldo and some random DJ. The game lacks any decent single player modes. They were too busy with random collabs and sponsoring events. The tutorials don't teach you shit. The story is so bad that it would probably be better if it was written with AI. The mechanics that made Mark of the Wolves so good are back, but they are buried under a pile of REV bullshit. REV blow is a stupid and boring mechanic. Ex attacks make combos look very similar and drag for a very long time. They were probably trying to make the game more similar to KOF. The SNK staff and the players do not deserve to suffer from the decisions taken by the heads of SNK.
