The game is like Mavis Beacon with gore. For what it is, it's pretty fun, but don't buy it because it's not compatible with Windows 10 or 11 despite the fact that Steam is still selling it. I bought the game years ago so Steam obviously won't refund, but they should because the goddamn game doesn't run. This is a known problem; you'll see for yourself in the Community section.

Typing of the Dead is a spin-off of the classic game House of the Dead, except instead of using a light-gun to kill zombies on rails, you are using your keyboard to type words and phrases as fast as possible to kill zombies, with a humorous, over-the-top, campy, but self-aware plot.
Pros:
+ Very funny
+ Very fun
+ Good amount of levels, secrets and extra content included
Cons:
- Some visuals and hit-detection seem cheap and hard to read
- Some phrases they make you type seem like propaganda
- Paid DLC

It's either this or the crappy HOTD1 remake.
The choice was obvious tbh, and having the normal version of Overkill included for free is a good bonus.
Also the workshop support is hilarious.

A good successor to the original, however, I really wish you could turn on "hardcore" mode without having to beat the game first.
Hardcore mode makes it so you have to type the capital letters, spaces, and punctuation marks. So if you're serious about practicing typing while playing a game, you first have to beat the game. Which makes no sense :/
