FPS cowboy-Hades is a lot of fun for less than the price of avocado toast. Strongly recommended.
The good:
-Hip firing, magic slinging cowboy gunplay is incredibly satisfying
-Great diversity of in-run abilities, making for lots of build variety
-Great enemy and arena variety
-Graphics are pretty
-Meta-progression is solid with unlockable guns, accessories, skills/features and stat-ups, making for an addictive core loop and a well planned power curve
-Well presented, drip-fed story (a la Hades) as you hit certain milestones
-Good amount of content for EA and for the price (£9 UK at time of purchase) - I took around 18hr to complete everything (I understand this is around 2/3rds of the campaign, and there will also be an endless mode in the full release)
-Devs are responsive in discussions and are taking on community feedback
The less good (nothing that isn't expected for EA)
-Some frame drops in busy fights, however this is minimal. Some other reviews are making a big deal of this, but it barely affected my experience (on a 16gb, RTX 3060; YMMV)
-Very occasional invisible wall or temporary stuck in the environment glitches - normal EA stuff that should be ironed out
-Some guns and abilities need a bit of balance tweaking
-Currently unfinished campaign, which is par for the course in EA

Playing in early access still feels good, i've only come across a few bugs and none of them are major.
i honestly cant wait for this game to fully release.
the only thing i wish for is a harder difficulty but there is one coming soon anyway. the meta progression is a bit of a grind to get but only because you sometimes have to choose between getting some upgrades for your current run or getting materials to get upgrades for your next run. never been a huge fan of this kind of thing but i think the game manages to pull it off well enough.
i think this game is incredibly reasonable for the price taking about 6 hours to get through the release content and with more to come and pretty endless replay i think its an easy choice

I am going to give this game a tepid thumbs up but its more of a wait and see. The game is good and I am someone that normally does not like rougelikes/lites but the game is solid at its foundation. The main issues it has can mostly be attributed to early access growing pains. Right now there is simply not a ton of content with only about 20 or so levels and some stuttering and balance issues but nothing out of line for a game in EA. The only reason the thumbs up is tepid is there simply is not a lot of content right now but I would say its worth it on sale.

They managed to make a cap and ball revolver usable and in line with the lore, and the game is even fun.
Early access is doing well, with enough content to justify the price.
It runs well for me, but I'm running a 2080 and R9 3900X so I might not be a good example.
