I couldn't recommend this game less. Without as doubt it is a gorgeous game with no love put into it. From the soul sucking downloads daily to weekly, the constant min-maxing and meta chasing, to the low-end support I expect from blizzard, and the timeless micro-transactions that plague my screen upon open; I have never felt more unfulfilled by a game. 70USD was bonkers, but id venture to say that 50USD is far too much yet. Wait for the sale, wait for the updates, don't buy at full or even half price.

In short: the only good thing about this game is its visuals—great artistic direction. The rest? The further you go, the worse it gets. While I could tolerate the gameplay and endgame (meeeh), the story and the forced inclusion of only female characters everywhere are unacceptable (and I say this as a woman, in case anyone wants to yell "sexist"). The characters are bland, my own character feels invisible, and I'm just experiencing other people's stories—everyone else is "cooler" and more important than me. Then there's the kid who apparently took a speed-reading course and magically knows everything—by far the most irritating presence in the entire game. Saying this game was a disappointment would be an understatement. It’s basically a horseback riding simulator, going back and forth endlessly. Maybe let this IP die peacefully...

I've been playing this franchise from the start, but this is the end. Tremendous number of really annoying bugs. People report them, and Blizzard ignores them, not even a "sorry". Worst: the sound issue causes lags as it cuts in and out, and the game kills you over and over during the lags, when you can't even play. Uninstalling and if they put out Diablo V, I will not buy it.

Basically a loot finder game, it misses the soul of the Diablo 1 and 2, never played the 3rd. Maybe if someone wants to play with me and explain it to me I will enjoy it a bit more, but the game is overall bad. A lot of menus within menus, a lot of information is thrown at you without knowing what you're looking at. Not very beginner friendly.

The game spends more time updating than being available to play. The latest update is 90GB, the last one was about 70GB... every few days there's more to update. It's ridiculous.

So sick of every game having an update the size of the Codex of fucking Gigas every week. Literally waited 45 minutes so far for a game I played a week ago to patch something like 120GB of game files. At this point it'll be ready just in time for me to go back to work. Devs have no respect for anyone with jobs.

While the game initially held my interest for a few hours, it quickly became dull and unengaging. Unfortunately, it's now one of my least satisfying purchases on Steam, and I regret not only the money I spent but also the time I invested in it.

This game definitely has some flaws, but I do think it's a bit overhated. What I really love about Diablo 4 is how much more grim it feels than Diablo 3 first of all, I always wanted to see a game deliver a similar gritty type feel that Diablo 2 has with a bit of an easier playstyle (I'm terrible at D2) and I will say this game definitely delivers in that case. I've found myself looking at stuff and admiring the game design many times, taking many screenshots etc. I also enjoy how much more of an improvement it is to make a build in this game compared to D3. The skill tree is a wonderful add-on as well as the paragon skill tree. It brings the complexity that I was hoping this game would have! As for the open world, I've seen some people complain about it but I personally like it a lot. It's really nice to be able to progress the story in whatever way you choose and it doesn't feel too open to the point where you don't know what to do, which is something I struggle with heavily in open world games. Really solid campaign as well! Though, it could feel a bit slow paced at times. As for what I don't like, I'd like to start with the majority of the cutscenes. Something that's been unique to the Diablo franchise is the very cinematic and heavy cutscenes, it's probably my favorite part of the games (yes I mostly play Diablo for the story flame me). All of the cutscenes in this game, except for 2, are made with in game graphics. Not even enhanced graphics for cutscene purposes, just straight up in game graphics, which really confuses me considering the quality of what they previously delivered. Second up, the side quests are just really meaningless. I liked them a bit at first but I pretty quickly found myself skipping through the dialogue and just forgetting about them and having masses of side quests just lined up that I never did, which is a HUGE difference from games as maybe Cyberpunk, where I think the side quests feel like their own story. Finally, the post game... Oh boy... The reason I still recommend this game is because I love the story, I play Diablo for the story, but if you play it for the post game (which most people do) you should really take a second to consider if you'd enjoy this. There's a lot of rinse and repeat grind here which in the moment can feel amazing, but once you've closed the game you REALLY get the feeling of having wasted your time, which is not how a good grind is supposed to feel. I won't really complain about the cosmetics costing money because idk they're just cosmetics, I don't see the issue too heavily though I get where people are coming from. at the very least it's not pay to win. Overall I would say it's a good game, but it can also be a pretty bad game depending on why it is you're buying it. If you're playing D4 to play an amazing campaign then yeah, I would absolutely recommend it!

I was a little hesitant because of the countless negative reviews but from my experience with the past diablo games, every one of them had something that kept me playing countless hours. Even the third iteration had it's charm with easy party find, pushing greater rifts, collecting and perfecting sets of armors and you felt that with every piece, you become more powerful, pushing higher rifts and farming higher torment levels. So, not listening to the negative reviews, bought Diablo 4 and actually felt the magic again - for a little while. Bought the game at the end of season 6, so i didn't bothered to play season quest, wanted to enjoy the story which is the good about Diablo 4. It keeps you wanting to find our more. Then starts season 7 and with it, starts the grind. After tens of hours you realize that it will be long until you reach a level of paragon/gear finesse just to be able to farm on Torment II/III/IV difficulty. Then you start pushing/grinding pit levels which aren't nearly as rewarding as GR's in D3. Artisan, Tempering, Masterworking added another layer of complexity for hardcore gamers who want to spend countless hours farming resources, spend countless hours upgrading and tinkering to get the perfect build. The game becomes very fast a constant, tedious battle agains constant, repetitive hordes, doing the same constant, repetitive seasonal quests over and over again with little or no visible rewards on short term when it comes to character progression. You need very specific gear, very specific upgrades, very specific build to be able to push higher pits which even if you finish them, feels nowhere near as rewarding as in D3. I can recommend D4 for it's story but it falls short when it tries to keep the player engaged and wanting to come back for more.

I dunno if I am just Diablo'd out or if it was the constant quest reminder to skip the main story but this one was at times a bit irritating to play. It had some interesting parts but over all it kinda felt like the game dragged on. I didn't hate it so I don't want to leave a negative but this is another one of those games where I wish we had a more specific review option than yes or no. The graphics are a nice upgrade sure but there are some things that just don't make any sense either. Like why am I even equipping a weapon that I never actually use? Maybe pick it up on sale and see what you think.
