I have only just beaten the game the first time, and its one of my favorite games of all time, is it perfect? no far from it but with friends or alone its a consistent blast

I have a love for this series that is hard to explain. Can be grindy if you want it to be, but its a ton of fun just to play through all the missions on hard. Even if you just do that I feel you would love it. Blast to play with friends but I've played mostly solo.

EDF 6 is a lobotimizing experience. You trade braincells for dopamine in a game coded by Hirohito himself.

This is the best military themed shooting game! The battles are wild and always exciting.

this game is insane, crazy shit. kinda out there even for EDF games imo. great fun though, glad the epic games thing is over with now, but i ended up getting the game way after it ended.

Is it EDF? Sure. It's crazy. But man is the story bad, and the new enemies not fun to fight at all. It goes from "yay EDF" to "oh no not them. Ugh." I'd recommend getting the previous installment. Also, still a HUGE pain to use the Depth Crawler. STABILIZE IT! You can't aim when it angles to every bump in the DESTROYED road!

The most comprehensive EDF experience so far. You don't get air support for chunks of the game and that can be annoying if you're reliant on vehicles or air strikes but you still get drones and bikes. Base game has around 1300 weapons and a lot of the weak EDF 5 weapons got rebalanced, so you never run out of variety. Wait for a sale and spend a dozen hours getting 3% progress.

My friend and I have had a lot more technical issues with this game compared to 4 and 5. The gameplay is almost identical so I would recommend you play those instead.

Bottom line up front: I absolutely recommend the game to EXISTING fans of the EDF series. I would NOT recommend it as someone's FIRST entry into the series. The story is VERY slow and excessively repetitive for an EDF game, if you are new to EDF you will unlikely understand what is happening and be frustrated by the time-loop mechanic. If you are new to EDF I suggest diving in via EDF4.1, EDF5 or any of the "World Brothers" games, you don't have to play all the games or play them in any order, these ones are just more entry friendly with very clear story and difficulty progression. I enjoy EDF games and have hundreds of hours on previous however I did NOT enjoy probably the first 80 missions, sure there are classics maps from previous games which were cool but the first 2/3rds of the game suck. The difficulty even on normal is a bit all over the place but in general I think it's harder than previous titles; I did enjoy the difficulty spikes as they forced me to play different classes, grind weapons, and develop my skills. The story is great, the end of the game has a ton of fan service, its' cool seeing how the future of the city progresses and how the Primers change over time, the new Barga mechanics are cool, and the set piece battles are bigger than ever! The last couple missions are awesome just like previous EDF titles, I like how the end builds up and how fun the final missions are. All the above being said, the front portion of the game was a horrible slog though and I feel that if this was someone's first EDF title they'd probably drop it half way though and leave with a bitter taste in thei rmouth.

Just make sure you cancel the Epic Games Store installation every time you launch the game (It will give you an error message and run anyway) and opt out logging into an Epic account on your first time joining multiplayer. You can still play online without it, you just won't be able to join people using Epic accounts.
