Wolf3D is the classic Nazi killing simulator that'll run on just about anything DOOM can. I'd recommend playing this on ECWolf or any modern sourceport for the best experience, especially now with community mods. This package only contains DOSBox files and lacks Mac-exclusive files, so you'll need to source out Mac or other port-exclusive content if that's something you want.

I don't recommend a blind playthough because the design is a bit dated. Instead search up the official hint book and read about a level before playing it. It makes it a lot more fun as you won't get lost trying to hump the correct wall to get the last 2 secret kills of a level. Plus mutants are kinda mean, you need to be prepared for them.

This game is a classic and a blast from the past. Gameplay is fun at first but overtime it gets very repetitive and it just becomes "Get key, find where it unlocks, kill enemies, next level". But It is the first big fps on pc so I will cut it some slack. Overall a 8/10

For some reason a game that gives me the simple joy of killing a bunch of nazis sounded fun these days. Also get ECWolf and rename it to DOSBox in your game folder. It gives you a minimap and other QOL updates.

I won't write a full review for this game, but just to say that it's a fun throwback. There is obviously minimal story to the game given the time period it was made - there wasn't really the tech to have full narrative story telling very well, yet. Even the sound effects are primitive with the closest thing to music being a midi file playing, lol. The game itself can be frustrating as the controls are absolutely terrible as is the sensitivity and you can't re-configure the controls. I'd give the game a 6/10 just barely a thumbs up if you want a nostalgia run, but the game itself really isn't all that great. It's also very tough to find your way around. The game is literally a maze of floors.

Classic! The OG! This is where it all began. The beginning of all FPS games. Respect your roots!

Wolfenstein 3D is an iconic game. Although showing it's age more and more as the decades pass, it's legacy and innovations can't be forgotten. That being said, don't play the current version right here. While Doom and Quake have gotten lovely remasters, Wolfenstein has sadly yet to receive one. Instead, it's a crappy DosBox version with terrible mouse controls that make the game flatout unplayable. Don't waste your money on this version and wait for a proper remaster...which I hope is soon.

One of the first 3D games out there, and it's still fun to go in and take out the enemy, plus finding all the secret rooms with their treasures! It's so easy to get lost for a couple hours blowing up stuff and having fun.
