Apollo is my favorite little scrumbly guy. These cases have some lulls in them but entirely worth the play.

Great game, runs great on Steam Deck. If you haven't played the original Phoenix Wright trilogy you can get this with the AA:PW trilogy for 10 extra bucks with the AA:PW+AA:AJ bundle. the phoenix wright game is entirely 2d and also has banger music. My playthrough of AA:PW took 100+ hours so its def worth it (I played it on my switch, so my playtime on steam wont say 100+ hours) Just wish it didn't get announced a week after i finished the 3ds version of AA:AJ lol

story is definitely a little weaker than the original trilogy, but its still incredibly solid. That, plus a lot of the engine improvements like history, autoplay, and others make this an incredibly solid collection, and still really really good overall.

amazing story with an overarching plot, amazing music, amazing unique and three dimensional characters, beautiful message and themes. character designs from the main characters/characters that already existed in the franchise are pretty bad, but the rest of the visuals of the game are great

Another great entry in the Ace Attorney Series. Great characters and great storylines for most cases. The final cases of Dual Destinies and Spirit of Justice were especially emotional, and I won't forget them any time soon - much like the original games.

I like this game, not as much as the previous entries in the franchise (I like the Phoenix Wright ones the best, struggled a bit with Apollo Justice but liked it overall - and then it goes a little off the rails) but if you like the franchise as a whole it is definitely worth playing. I struggled with the "gimmick" of the final game, where you see visions and get input from the 5 senses. Most of it didn't make sense to me as a logic puzzle but everything else was solid.

(I originally played all these games on the 3ds) A great collection of great games. Might not be as consistent as the original trilogy, but that doesn't mean they won't give you a good time from start to finish.

Fun but flawed. You'll still get the Ace Attorney experience and enjoy it, but it never quite reach the height it did in the first trilogy for me, and the low point was at its lowest here. If you play for the solving case part, you might be a bit disappointed because it's pretty much a mixed bag. It was at its worst at Dual Destinies (the second game in this trilogy). If you play for the story, it never really come together as good as it did Trials and Tribulations, but not outright terrible. Fun cast and great OSTs though. The museum is a nice touch too. Cases range from incredibly boring to engrossing throughout. The story has some hype moments, but when it falls off it falls deep. The cast in most cases are a fun bunch (I personally love Spirit of Justice's cast). I love the 2D art, and while the 3D animation is a bit weird, they are also very fun to look at, and the design isn't worse. The OSTs are mostly amazing. 2 new techniques (like Psyche-locks) and 1 new court system (in SoJ) introduced, and I enjoyed it for the most part, albeit it being way too convenient at times. The trilogy mainly suffers from insane level of hand holding (Dual Destinies), stupid amount of flashback of things that happened 5 minutes ago or less (Dual Destinies, Spirit of Justice), severely underused plot point/theme (Dual Destinies mainly, Spirit of Justice to an extent). 3 games feel disconnected, main reason probably being that Dual Destinies was made to be an entry point for new players. Therefore no spoilers from older games is contained in it, which means any plot from Apollo Justice (the first game in the trilogy) was pretty much left untouched. Also while it has "Apollo Justice" and "Trilogy" in the title, to me it feel more like a duology for him. We get 3 protagonists. Unfortunately, this hurts Apollo's story. Dual Destinies feel like Athena's game more than Apollo's. While there is a plot point which seems crucial to Apollo, it was so surface level that it didn't even need to be there. Spirit of Justice fixed that but at the cost of making his story in Dual Destinies even less significant.
