It is a tabletop port. The game is over the top combo of war-games and "american" football. You get to bride the reff to look the other way as you bash in the skull of the other team's best player. If that does not tell what you are in for, then I have nothing to tell you.
As for the other games. I have no idea. However with the rise of popularity of Warhammer, and the other reviews. I see this game as more or less the truest tabletop brought to PC. The others are cash-grabs or... "modernization" of the tabletop. Just be willing to compare the games to each other before you make a choice. Or be rich bitch and buy all the copies with out worrying till later.

Blood bowl Chaos edition is a fun Football Strategy game that lets you play a violent form of football as many unique races such as orc,elves,goblins and undead. be careful cause the other team wants that football and will literally KILL to get it so make sure get those cheerleaders dancing bribe the referee and pay the mad scientist to keep your team alive.
