Although NiNP adds some hilarious new enemies and a popcorn flick plot that are serviced well by the enhanced kung fu fighting emphasis, it simply doesn't have nearly enough content for even its already low asking price. At the time of this review's writing, this DLC is seven dollars for a short piece of linear 'go to the designated place and fight the designated mooks' content that will last you all of a single day - or perhaps two, if you really try to stretch it out. This is INCLUDING all of the side content and collectibles!
When compared to full-fledged games you can get for the same price, there's absolutely no way to justify splurging this much on this DLC, which is too abbreviated and shallow to recommend on its own. As part of a special compilation that's extremely heavily discounted, sure, but on its own? You're not missing anything by keeping your money, no matter how much you love Sleeping Dogs. Even if you love the spooky hell-ghost aesthetics, the only part of them that carries over to the main game is... a hat.

Decent Halloween DLC for the price. Spent 4 hours playing it and doing all achievements. Story was on the side of good, with some humurous moments. Wish they could have added a "Halloween radio station" to have more fitting music when driving, since you can't turn off the radios.
All in all, not a bad buy, but does not affect main story at all, only adding a hat item when finishing the story.

So you can beat this DLC in about less then 2 hours I want to say 1.
Its ok nothing special entire mission is in north point there is nothing else to do outside that and it was fun
Long story short big bad comes back from Hell to get revenge on ....someone? and takes your girl. Now go rescue her!
6/10 zombie spirits from hell.

The better of the two big DLC, it actually adds a couple new enemies, 2 to be precise, it’s just a shame the entire DLC is centred pretty much exclusively on said new enemies. Basically all the main story missions and side missions just amount to killing one or both of the 2 new enemies, and it gets old fast. Still the theme is more unique, and it has the decency to limit itself to one district so you’re not running across the entire game world, unlike a certain other DLC.

Unlike the awesome main game, Sleeping Dogs, this DLC is just really short addition without no connections to the main story. Gameplay-wise it's about 2-3 hours long and that's only when you do all the additional content. The story is placed only in one district of the town, the rest of the town is without any pedestrians just with random cars driving by. So unless you are getting this only to get achievements (ehm..) or you have irresistible desire to punch bunny hopping zombies in the face, I would not recommend getting this DLC.

I generally don't review games on Steam (not seriously, anyways) but I replayed Sleeping Dogs recently and realized I had this DLC and never even touched it and hoo boy do I wish I still hadn't. This was genuinely one of the most boring experiences in video games I've ever been through.
Imagine the scope of the main game of Sleeping Dogs. The interesting story, all the cool missions and side content, the variety. Now strip it down so that it's nothing but driving and melee combat. Now strip it down *further* so that all the cool combos that you learn and do in the main story do nothing, and your general method for dealing with enemies is "punch/kick them until they're stunned, then grab them." That's this DLC. There's one segment of one of the main quest missions that brings back the main game's gunplay and it's like a breath of fresh air.
This DLC looks cool and should've been awesome, but to be honest it took me a little over 2 hours to complete all the content and I genuinely feel like that was too long.

While I believe this is the largest DLC for Sleeping Dogs, it's still quite short. There's only a handful of missions and maybe 10 activities (3 different ones.) I ran through it to 100% completion in one sitting pretty easily. It also includes 10 collectibles which are not highlighted like the collectibles in the base game, and as far as I can tell there is no way to get them to show up on your map either.
It's also one of the type of DLC that's separate from the main game. It limits your clothing and cars, and you can't gain any exp or work on any main game challenges while playing it. It uses separate save slots, though it may pull some data from your main save when you start it (I'm not entire sure about this.)
Overall not a bad DLC, but I'd recommend catching it on sale. Also a warning: contains story spoilers, so play it after you beat the main game.

Nightmare in North Point is certainly a very good idea for a DLC. It takes place after the main storyline of the game and starts out after Wei takes his girlfriend Not Ping to a movie theatre. After that demons arrive and Wei has to learn ancient chinese secrets inorder to combat the hordes of the Underdark.
Now there are some really positive aspects to this DLC and some really negative ones. It bares a lot of similarities to Red Dead Redemption's Undead Nightmare DLC. Which likewise was story DLC that portrayed the main character John Marston fighting fantasy creatures and undead post storyline. It also suffers from the same problems. The DLC world is seperate from the main game and thus is more limiting. The player's unlocks from the core game don't carry over and neither do their abilities. The DLC also only takes place in North Point. While the player can travel to other areas in Hong Kong there's no content there.
Otherwise it's a fancy DLC that allows you to partake in more fantasy aspects in the game. You get what you pay for, and it's very well priced. However I just wish there was more to it.

This content is basically "Big Trouble in Little China" except Little China is Hong Kong. It's not your stupid simple "ZOMBIES HAVE INVADED AND BEAT THEM UP." There's an actual story, and it's quite humorous. Not only is there lots of laughs to be had, but the same great combat and writing from the main game is here as well.
Many of the characters you met in the main game show up here as well, except many of them are back from the dead.
Just play it. And let me know if you see the Pork Bun Guy.
