Update 2 (22 February 2023) Abandoned. Update: The game is still super hard, but the devs are listening. For the price-point, if you like to suffer, why not. As someone who has played several Vampire Survirors-type games, I decided to give this a shot. There are a lot of different issues but they all contribute to the main one, IMO, which is: This game is TOO fucking hard. I think my best time was around 6m20s and that took a while. I'm not going to entertain the dick-measuring contest of "I can say what is hard or isn't because I played "X"" but anyone who tries this (if anyone) will find that the game is more unfair than it is challenging. Things I'd like to get addressed or even reworked to help the overall playability: -Background The image in the background does NOT help visibility. When 3/4th of the elements of the game are little dots, it doesn't help to have a lot of little stars as background. Perhaps add an option to change it and/or turn it into a flat color/black. -Immunity after choosing upgrade/Taking Damage There are no I-Frames in the game. If by god's will you get to pick an upgrade one frame before you're about to get hit, good luck, there's nothing you can do about it. Also, getting hit does not proc any sort of damage prevention/mitigation even for half a second, that means that if you're out of position for a quarter of a second you can very likely go from full HP to "gg next". -No consumables/Pick-up items It would be nice to have props laying around (Like asteroids/pods) for example to break in order to get things such as HP/Heals and/or some item to at the very least pick up the XP orbs laying around. -Multishot Spread (More Projectiles upgrade) The spread sucks. It's not good nor pleasant to use. Make it tighter. -Full XP system rework. I know this is touchy and probably wasn't included in the OG vision, but for the first time I think it's glaringly obvious that the "pick up xp as orbs" formula does NOT work in this game. Enemies have a lot of HP right of the get go and the amount of them prevents you from effectively picking up anything after the fourth/fifth minute. I know there are upgrade related to the orbs, such as "pickup range" , and I usually am against "removing features", but I genuinely think that having the enemies give you the XP immediately on kill would make the overall experience a lot better and less infuriating. I'll post this in discussions as well since it seems to be empty (I might be the only person that bought this game lol), if the dev would like to share his opinions or respond to my feedback it'd be nice, if not, I'm refunding this I'm afraid.

Cool game for couple hours. i would kindly ask the developer to give us a shield or something to live!!! not sure what , but something that allows you to survive longer than 2 minutes... my experience was....came to the realization that at about 2+ minutes into any match...will mark the end of any chance of survival. there are simply too many to deal with and the random chance of abilities marks certain doom. you might get a lucky set of drops and get healing and damage etc...but still nothing that can stand to the horde sent your way at 2 min mark.

Addictive and action-packed, this feels like a fresh take on the Vampire Survivors-alike subgenre of games. Unlike others trying to do the same, SKY TOMB has a core hook - the movement mechanic requires you to be present and requires skill from the very beginning, and keeps tensions high right from the start (as opposed to the slow, plodding build-up we are used to from these games). The short 3-10 minuter run lengths encourage retries, and feel like less of an endeavour compared to the 30 min+ runs where you are only in the risk of dying in the last 2-3 minutes. As for downsides - in its current state, SKY TOMB is PUNISHINGLY hard, and still very unpolished. The game is still in very early access, so I look forward to see what changes the devs have in the pipeline!

Beautifully nostalgic and brutally challenging! This is an arcade-styled retro indie early access game that makes me feel like a 90s kid grinding away my game tokens on trying to beat the machine again! Except it cost me far fewer tokens to play this game as much as I have already :D The devs are clearly having fun with the development and actively trying to make it fun yet not too easy for players. My suggestions would be perhaps some slower progressions, clean cuts between stages/levels, and a few bosses, but I am sure that and much more is yet to come! I look forward to seeing how it continues to develop.
