I would say its worth getting for the price, especially on sale. You buy it for the aesthetic and the music, both of which are awesome and honestly what made me finish the game. The gameplay and optimization are a bit lacking tho. If you don't have good hardware, you will have to really lower the graphics and even then there are some frame drops. Some bosses are just weirdly difficult compared to others, and others i wouldn't even consider bosses. Its very inconsistent. You can definitely tell that they had only a couple of bosses in mind when making the game. Those are cool. Others are just to fill in the time. Personally i don't like the magic and elemental system that much, it confused me quite a bit, but you can work with it. The mask system with the stats is really cool tho, makes it very adaptable to any situation. Its the kinda game you keep playing because you really want it to be good, not because it is good. Considering its the devs first game, its alright. I hope the devs learn from this experience and make another one, either a sequel or a spiritual succesor. And if they do, THEY REALLY NEED TO KEEP THE ARTISTS, visual and audio. I'm serious, keep those guys and gals.

It's a nice Souls-like, but the movement is a bit chunky, but if this is no problem for you, then it is a solid souls-like game.

Surprisingly good! Combat: combat/movement is a bit stiff at the beginning, but it grows on you. Heavy parry-based, but the parry window is generous and getting parries is very satisfactory. Graphics: the graphics are good, but nothing eye watering. Definitely decent for an AA game. Ambience: very beautiful, the ambients and visuals are colorful and varied. The italian folclore is interesting and refreshing. Enemy variety: very good, each zone has distinct enimies and feeling. Difficulty: this lies a bit on the medium difficult. Most bosses can be downed in 1 or 2 tries, but some of them required 10+ tries or more. Funnily got the last boss on the first try. New mechanics: the mask mechanic, where you switch between different masks, with each mask giving different bonus sets, is interesting, but I did not engage with it much. Idw found all the different status effects/buffs a bit complicated, but the game helpfully shows a diagram with each strength/weakness. Overall a very decent souls like, definitely recommend. Excited for what's next from the same studio.

Note: This is a play through after their large patch in March of 2025, which I understand fixed a lot of things. I recommend this game for anyone who truly enjoys Souls-like games. You will likely be uninterested otherwise. Pros: -The game environment. Walking out of the tutorial and into the first region of the game (Quinta) really is an awe-inspiring moment. -A Souls-like not wholly focused on dark and dreary designs. -A unique story inspired by Italian folklore. -Solid sound and music. -Voice acting is extremely pleasant, no cringe here. -Combat in the game is well done, for the most part. -A large variety of weapons, all of which feel weighty, or zippy, depending on the speed. -Likewise, a large variety of Mask Lines (spells/abilities). -The Mask, Aspect, and Mask Lines add an enjoyable flavor of theory crafting your own build. -The Status Powers are interesting enough to want to build around your favorite, of which there are four. (Gratia, Vis, Fatuo, and Malanno). They also aren't inherently just a negative effect even if an enemy afflicts it onto you, which makes it more of a give and take status effect. Mid: -This may not be a con to all, and maybe even a pro to some. While there is a hub, it is what I would call a "soft" hub. You will rarely go back to it except to sell to the one merchant that exists, and otherwise most Reality Knots (aka bonfires) will have an anvil to upgrade your weapon/masks/mask lines as well as the Reality Knot is where you level up and change your load outs. Cons: -After the first region (Quinta), the game feels less fleshed out in every aspect, such as sound design, environments, etc. -The game eventually devolves into a darker and dreary design, which ironically they never mention and only focus on the "Summer Souls", which can be attributed to the first half of the game. -Not all NPCs have voice acting; to me, this is a huge con, as it throws the fluidity off of the game, and you recognize it a lot more as budget and/or time constraints. -Enemy variety is a lot to be desired. For the most part, you will be fighting humanoids, many of which have basic standards of fighting. (E.G. Archers in one region, Gunmen in another, as well as rehashed enemies with different elemental defense/offense) -While there are a lot of ways to build your character, I never utilized the Mask switch feature, as you can have up to 3 load outs. I only stuck with one in my entire playthrough. -Dodging feels way off compared to parrying, which is supposed to be more difficult to do right. The i-frames for dodging in this game feels way too low, and it's recommended in my opinion to learn how to parry effectively aside from some big AoE abilities. -The game's difficulty is subpar. If you are used to Souls-likes, this will not feel very difficult, EXCEPT one boss which you can do within the earlier portion of the game. -Most deaths will come from falling, or being stun locked by ranged enemies, which gives a tedious factor rather than difficulty. -Awkward moments when transitioning from cut scenes. (E.G. After a boss kill, everything immediately disappears, then the cut scene starts and everything is back, or entering a new region will trigger a small cut scene and you just immediately get a cut away with you standing in the new region) -The 40+ hour claim is very inaccurate. I completed this game in about 16 hours, which includes many moments of me being inactive in the game. This is a relatively short game for a Souls-like which is fine, but don't state as if the game is a lot larger than it is. Overall, I'd love to see some sort of a sequel, because the concept of the game is great, but I wish there was more time spent on it before releasing, because even after all of the fixes, this game really does feel incomplete, but more-so in an awkward way, like you can't quite put your finger on all of the polishes that it needs that were missed.

No update since March, I'm afraid if this game might have no more supports.

I did 3 playthoughs of this game.it's time to say yay or nay. Honestly, I enjoyed the game even though it does not lack in sometimes infuriating shortcomings and mechanics. E.g. - bugged achievements, you may be lucky and get it or not. Also, need 2 NGs for some and HP scaling in NG+ is off the charts (or so I hear). - Ranged enemies that fire at you, with no indication on when you should parry, in a melee game where you have limited ranged options. Oh, every hit stuns you and you may fall to your death. - Poison is way too strong. If you get poisoned, you are pretty much dead. - If you an enemy start charging at the same time, you will always lose (again every hit stuns you) - Game may crush now and then - Pretty much you can forget dodging, enemies lock on you and do not miss. So, game has some mechanics that is known in the genre, parry until you fill the gauge then a huge hit (if you have a weapon that can dish out unraveling damage). 4 elements rock-paper-scissor style. Each have their own status, which may benefit you or the attacker etc. For bosses, you will need to use a weapon that they are weak to and they usually have both ranged/jump as well as flurry of melee attacks. Some you won't be able to parry. "Fatuo" is especially strong and was my go to element as you build the status on enemy, then every time you hit them, you get a bit of HP back, which is awesome because like others in the genre, god help you if you are trying to heal, it is frigging slow so put distance between you and boss, if possible, before healing. There are some very nice XP farming spots where take a route and by the time you are done, you will have a level worth of XP. Honestly, b/c I like to over-level my characters and upgrade different weapons, I enjoyed that. Colossal Weapons are slow of course but not like Monster Hunter World slow. Pulling back and hitting enemy with Heavy attack really makes a nice strategy for most bosses. In terms of reach, Colossal Ultra Great Swords are good. Do yourself a favor and get and upgrade Funereal Flamberge from the first side area in the monastery. It's awesome! Discovery aspect was nice, not too crazy secrets but chests are sometimes hard to see. You need to collect shit tons of stuff for achievements, and again you may hit a bug and all that effort could be for nothing. So, be ready to be disappointed. Graphics were good, not great but has a nice style. Performance, not so good but not terrible either. For reference, I played on nVidia 4090 (24GB) + 128GB RAM on i7 10K. Overall, my vote is yes. $25-30 is fair price that you are unlikely to regret paying, with the condition that you are not an achievement hunter. That stuff is so bugged, you will lose your mind trying to get all of them especially if you hit bugs and no matter how many times you satisfy the condition, it won't pop-up (like me killing two enemies 100 times with no luck although condition is to kill 50).

TLDR: Devs need to optimize the game, and fix all the bugs, only leaving a negative review, because there is no middle option. First off. The game is beautiful. The three cities are expansive, and immersive. Definitely some collision issues, and for some reason wants to cook your pc, but other than that, it’s easy to get lost in the sauce. Except for the second world. It is by far the most demanding on your pc. Combat is pretty janky, it doesn’t feel smooth. Enemies will quit literally slide across the ground or straight up freeze in place. Only staggering them will pull them out of it. I’ve tried to trouble shoot why vsync isn’t able to be turned on. Switched settings to borderless, manually turned it on via nvidia control panel. No luck, screen tears are constantly pulling me out of the immersion. Tried to find solutions in the discord, but to no avail. All n all this games biggest problem is the optimization. It’s way too demanding on resources for what it is. As it stands I cannot recommend this game, unless it’s on a very steep sale. 5/10

Too high requirements and way awful optimizations. This is made after finishing Stellar Blade and still playing Khazan on the same rig. BIG NOPE!

The game have major compatibility issues, like the UE Fatal Error, which makes the game unplayable, and the devs or the support doesn't give you answers. The game is abandoned, is a waste of money

I could endure the janky movement I could endure the delay in jumping and evading (can still parry instead) I could endure the frame rate drop here and then (can still lower settings) BUT as soon as I get to Litumnia, I give up Because I ABSOLUTELY CAN'T ENDURE THE HELL LAGGING in this region!!!! Even though I have already lowered the setting to the lowest, it is still absolutely impossible to play, as it's too stuttering. I didn't have that issue in the 1st and 2nd region. Damn shame I have to give up playing. I did think this game has potential, but its incompetent optimization has already touched my limit!
