It's cool to be able to change skins for your character but make it unlockable and add special abilities. For this skin, the ability could be infinite rifle ammo and unlocked by killing a certain number of combatants with the rifle.

Square's paid mods. There's nothing special about the costume either.

The add-on adds a look for Lara Croft to the game. The look itself is a jungle style battle outfit. It all looks quite harmonious and interesting, for which it is recommended for purchase.

TOMB RAIDER SERIES TO ESCAPE ITS COLONIAL PAST
[ 9 April 2024 ]
British adventurer Lara Croft will transition from being a raider of tombs to a seeker of truth as Evil Hat Productions and Crystal Dynamics seek to redefine the Tomb Raider series in order to escape a history wounded by colonialism, according to an excerpt from the official Tomb Raider Shadows of Truth RPG rulebook.
"Raiding, as depicted in the original Tomb Raider games and stories, involves going to ancient tombs and historical sites of different civilisations and acquiring artefacts. It operates on the assumption of 'finders keepers' that grants raiders with the means and the drive to claim ownership of artefacts, regardless of whether they have any historical or cultural claim to the treasure."
"Later games released in the franchise have started the work of addressing this by having Lara Croft acknowledge her past mistakes and try to understand and show respect for the cultures and communities she comes into contact with. She has also worked to reform raider culture and raise the awareness of her peers."
"Lara no longer decorates her mantle with mythic artefacts - as a raider she prioritises seeking out the truth. Much of this game is inspired by her humanity, struggle with heroism, and her tenacity. We believe that all three aspects are an important component in creating a game that celebrates history and culture while acknowledging the respect and work required to live in a world wounded by colonialism."
"In this game, we seek to continue in that work alongside Crystal Dynamics by creating a sandbox for you to tell stories that address colonialist themes in play and create your own stories of respect and support for the people and cultures your Seekers encounter."

It should be included with the game. When Lara gets dirty during the history if you’re wearing another skin instead the standard, you won’t be able to see it.

The original games used to be really amazing.
Some would even say that they were classics.
And I do agree with that sentiment, they are.
But then this game came and it's astounding.
These developers managed to really revive it.
The gameplay is amazing and so is the story.
Everything looks nice: It's a beautiful game.
And I really have to give it a positive review.
I honestly do recommend the GOTY edition.
Although most of those DLC's are garbage.
This one is the prime example of worthless.
It's just a player skin, that's it. Nothing else.
Modders do these awesome things for free.
It's a waste of money, just a cash grab stuff.
You won't get additional playtime from this.

Some users do not like it when the skin does not get dirtier while playing
or is sometimes not dirty at all, while Laura can get quite dirty in life.
This skin is very nice looking, but on top of that,
it also has mud and dirt on its trousers.
On the front side of the vest, the lack of dirt in mid game doesn't stand out,
since there is a fancy camoflage effect. It makes it fit into the scene,
even when on the back side it can look weird at times.
Just imagine that she took the outfit in a chest, where it had been put,
after it got looked after and carefully kept in shape!

The Tomb Raider: Guerilla Skin is a cool outfit that fits well with the game’s setting, but it would have made more sense for Lara to find it during her adventure rather than as a paid add-on. If you enjoy switching up outfits, consider grabbing it in a budget bundle or the GOTY edition. Just keep in mind that, unlike Lara’s default look, this skin doesn’t deteriorate as you progress through the game.

DLC verdict: Don't get it OR Get it in the bundle with the base game
Comment:
It is just a new skin which you can change at the camp fires. However, it does not reflect the injuries Lara receives (unlike her default skin) so it is very immersion breaking. But it is part of the GOTY edition so you could get this through buying that version.

Back in the day you unlocked new outfits in games by completing goals within the game, now you unlock them by paying an extra 59p. This is purely a pointless visual change that actually detracts from the original game because this outfit does not get damaged as the game progresses in the way the default outfit does.
