Even though this game came out a mere 7 months after Road to Hill 30, I consider it a much better game in every aspect. My main points about the gameplay still stand as, technically speaking, this is still the same game. But what they did with the mission structure and the maps is a much needed improvement over the original. The best part is, of course, the characters. The story and setting is all too familiar to us today and even though it is an American perspective on the war (which is flawed by default), this is the type of story that is universal and I consider it a true war story. The main character is a breath of fresh air compared to the first game. He has a voice of his own, and i really enjoyed listening to him. For a game that calls itself BROTHERS IN ARMS it was always a travesty that you can't even remember anyone besides maybe one character asside from the one you play as. I am happy to say that in this game they at least gave more spotlight to the men beside you, and that is a very important thing for this game because of what it is trying to convey. The comraderie between people stuck in a foreign land fighting a war they did not start. The deaths and losses now have at least some meaning to them. That emotional weight can be felt through the main character when he talks about them. Overall a much more enjoyable game and even with its core design flaws, they managed to improve upon with fine tuning the game and making an actual story to follow with something to do with the title of the game - Brothers in Arms.

It's a great sequel to Road to Hill 30. AI is improved, level design is also more various and less repetitive, although at some point it still will give that feeling. The game feels way more challenging and strategic, and was much more enjoyable than the previous one. The story takes a darker twist, giving more depth to the characters. It's a great tactical shooter that improves all that its predecessor created.

The story is fine but a bit shorter than Brother in Arms: Road to Hill 30 as finished it in about 2 hours. The first game of series and Brother's in Arms: Hell's Highway focuses on the perspective of Matt Baker. This game focuses on the perspective of "Red" or Joe Hartsock. Gameplay-wise it is similar to Road to Hill 30. The shooting and gunplay feel inaccurate and dragged out the fights which is intentional I believe due to the tactical mechanics of the game, but it definitely was not for me. Also, I wished there was a sprinting feature. These mechanics slowed down the pace of the game in my experience/opinion.

Play with the Renfroc Mod and enjoy the somewhat modernization of the game. Really enhances the experience .
