Its a Very fun game esspecially in coop. (well i only played in coop so far but eh)
But it seems that the game is really not made for Co-op enjoyment. there are dungeons and bosses that are almost specifically made for one of the 2 characters and while i can see it being fun in single player to switch around with them, you dont have that option with 2 players. which means that one of them are sometimes just lagging behind, being forced to teleport after the other because there is no way for the other to follow. (not gonna spoiler any specific instances for that)
the same goes for bosses though where as the game starts off by making both characters very viable for bosses, but the further you get, the more you realize that some bosses are way easier for one of the 2 chars while the other just watches or gets in like 1 hit every so often.
the whole "not being able to unlock achievments in co-op" is also very questionable. i havent finished the game yet and its not TOO long but im not sure if i got the motivation to play through the whole thing again AND alone?
i really hope there will be a change in that which would most likely get some good will back of the people who potentially downvoted it (just in my opinion)

Great co-op game. The fetch tasks are somewhat mundane, but overall it's fun to play.

This game is amazing. I really like all the Fran's game, so I was happy to find this one. So you get a game that looks like an old game, pixel art and 8 bit music, but the progress the story and everything is spot on, And it feels like so much game play. If you liked any of the other games you would love this one.

Best co-op Metroidvania ever! The game design is superb. Shared resources, some shared items/abilities and some player-specific, and the ability to warp to the other player's location at any time - these features show that co-op play was baked in rather than tacked on.

Enjoyable game to play cooperatively with together. Not revolutionary in any aspect but very solid.

Aesthetically cute and nostalgic take on the metroidvania formula. While simpler in scope, the game doesn't pull any punches, expecting you to really hunt out your upgrades and secret treasures--with little to no help from your npc gods (outside of some very specific and necessary upgrade paths). Mileage will vary, but allowing most of the castle to be explored at any time was a nice reprieve from the usual expectation of being constantly route-locked. Better yet, the game offers a co-op mode, allowing another to take up the arms of the second character. Instead of hot-swapping between protagonists like in Portrait of Ruin, your partner and you get to roam at your leisure, using a single button to teleport to each other when needed. That being said, co-op wasn't without its issues. While most of the adventure played just fine, there were a few times where it was clear a boss or environmental obstacle was designed to be dealt with in a specific way - and co-op actually made it harder, especially near the end. In addition, I really feel that locking the achievements to single player does a disservice and should be revised. All in all, worth a play with the above in mind.

This game is a lot of fun. It takes me back to the games of the early 90's--a nice retro style game. Exploring the map is a lot of fun. The combat is simple, you don't have to do any fancy combos or anything. Yet, it is challenging because you have to maneuver your character to avoid taking hits. Being able to switch between characters provides a nice variety of gameplay too. The 2D graphics are very attractive and charming; great music and even two soundtracks! Lots of stuff to find so it keeps you busy for hours.

The game is very solid.
But... boss fights?... Most unrythmic weird fk-ups.
They totally ruin the otherwise smooth experience.
Sometimes you miss when you shouldn't. Sometimes you do zero damage.
Absolutely frustrating to me. At least I'd appreciate an 'easy' boss mode.
