I bought the game for my young brother but we spent time by playing together. Good and cheap game. Looking forward to hearing about relasing of Multiplayer mode. We can play together with my brother.

It's janky, runs pretty bad and the grammar needs a complete overhaul. But some dude has finished and shipped a respectable working game to Steam where you travel around in a 3D world, fight with a sword and shield, buy and mount different dragons, shoot stuff with fireballs and complete a variety of linear quests. It's not trying to do any one thing extremely well, but it does a lot of different things to a satisfactory standard, which is really impressive because the dev has somehow found a way to avoid the seductive but time-wasting lure of perfectionism. Unlike every low T, soy infused indie game that's 99% art and 1% game, On The Wings is made by someone who has big ideas and managed to manifest them by keeping his ambitions in check. For me it was a reminder that as long as a game has all the working parts, it can actually be fun to experience a creation that is clearly someone's passion project that isn't all just platforming with colourful, shiny, particle effect/shader wankery.

This is a solid game with a big ambition. Its essentially a very linear adventure game where you can ride a dragon and follow a series of quests. It runs fairly poorly and the translation needs some work but overall for a single developer his doing a great job. Multiplayer on the way as well!

I always liked dragon type games. This one is not hard or too easy. Thank you. EDIT: After leveling up my dragon to win the fight to that Dark Black dragon, the game sort of ended. So I decided to complete some achievements and buy the different dragons thinking they would all be in a 'stable'. But to find out that I lost them all, except the last dragon bought. Yes!, this lost my high level dragon too. -_- Now I don't even want to play. Do a fix and let us have a stable full of our hard work and replace all the dragons including the levels they were at, or see ya.

The game has very nice graphics, but this is overshadowed by the following: 1. The sound of the menu/UI buttons is AWFUL and very loud. Please make it ANYTHING ELSE. Every time I want to close a menu, hit next, continue my game, or interact with any kind of interface; "KA-CHUNK!" 2. I cannot stand momentum-based camera movement. I don't know why any developer would choose to add this to their game, as it makes it unplayable in my book. Oh, you wanted to pan the camera over here? Too bad, it's gonna keep sliding over into THIS angle instead! Also, you can't zoom out. Why. 3. For some reason, someone decided to add the sound of a harp strumming for every. Single. Dialogue. Box. It's annoying as hell. Any one of these things would be only just barely tolerable at best, but all together I couldn't get through more than five minutes of gameplay before I wanted to throw my computer. Please fix this. Also, the dialogue is a bit bland at best, at worst it's riddled with grammar and spelling mistakes, but this is tolerable next to those other issues. Don't get me wrong, this game isn't terrible. In fact, it's pretty good for an indie dev, and I do believe it could easily get better. I hold out hope that will happen. But as is, I can't recommend this game.

Cheap, focuses on Dragon riding and dragon companion, made by solo dev who seems to genuinely keep updating the game. Has a lot of potential and worth following. Although, at the moment of writing this, don't expect anything sensational. This game still needs years worth of polish (because only one person is working on this). But I feel like it will get there eventually.

The game is playable, BUT it is early access as it gets. From my 1 hour of gameplay I can tell that the game has potential and heck it's on my watch list. CONS: -Game is unoptimized; I can run GTA V on High @60 fps, here I need to lower it to "Good" graphics quality to get even FPS -Janky movement: there's something about the movement that is a bit off, especially flying the dragon. -Camera/POV: well you can increase POV with the scroll wheel, unfortunately while flying the dragon the crosshair will be hidden by either the head or obstructed by the wings of the dragon. -Bad collision physics: walking around town you'll know what I mean. -Weird aiming/fire breathing: up in the sky the Arc of the fireball/breath is weird. On the ground the fire breath is hard to use point blank (when bears are trying to maul your dragon). -Lack of AI awareness/logic: Deers will stay and be roasted by dragons. Pirates go Kamikaze style and yolo to the village and not dodge and weave. PROS: -Graphics: on Fantastic it is okay -YOU RIDE DRAGONS? Suggestions: -For the pov just let it be a shoulder aim type of camera view. So the player can see where the reticle is while flying. -Weird progression: Using levels to unlock other dragon is fine, but using cash is a bit weird. Use reputation instead for the dragon, and maybe a little bit of cash. -Awkward map design- I suggest removing the random houses in the forest, and instead group them up just like the home village and scatter 2-3 in and around the forest. Having them scattered around like that is a bit weird. Then you can incorporate the reputation for different villages for the dragon. Icy village = Icy Dragon, Volcano village = Magma dragon, Village in the middle of forest = Forest dragon. And honestly having houses randomly in the forest will destroy the ecosystem of the island, resulting in animals dying out a long time ago (Just saying :P). -Bad collision: honestly I can live with this since this will take time to smooth out. -Clunky hand to hand: Not really needed since. Dragons go BRRRRRRRR!!! -No stable/storage for other dragons: Yes, dragons for me are nothing but objects to be replaced when new, bigger and badder ones are available (JK!). -Day and Night has no purpose: Have a different animal spawn, boars and foxes in the day, wolves in the night. Conclusion: The game is true early access, a few bugs here and there, weird clunkiness are present. The story is nothing more than a modified fetch/destroy quest. Lore is present but you need to squint your eyes for it. It is fun BUT short lived, gameplay loop is just a modified fetch/destroy quests. Ohh and have I meantion YOU RIDE DRAGONS? Do I recommend? Yes, but on a sale. Unless you want a dragon rider game with potential then yeah buy it full price. Let's just hope this game will graduate from early access. Fingers crossed for sure.

Thanks for making me forget my problems in my life for a short time. :D Cave level was a little bit long. I don't like mazes anyway but overall gameplay, dragons, silent NPCs, Village ambience were very nice. It needs more work to make it better but I think it is very good game for an indie. Snake dragon is awesome btw

Such a nice little game with... dragons!! I love dragons and riding dragons, and the dragons in this game are honestly pretty cute. I like the way they move and the coloration of each subtype is pretty. The controls for the dragon are nice and I was really pleasantly surprised to find the controller support was nice. The control scheme was a little awkward and sluggish primarily for the human character, but playing as the dragon is intuitive and nice. Mana (aka what you use for your breath attack) regens a little slowly, meaning fights do have a lot of kiting involved, but navigating the kiting isn't a pain so it's negligible. The dragon is so superior to the human I almost never dismounted once I could fly, only ever dropping down to open cage doors or collect quest items. The world is a bit empty - the base gameplay loop is go to quest giver, go do quest (typically a fight of some sort), then go to next questgiver, etc. There's little camps of random enemies scattered around and I hope to find some other stuff out there. There's also a little game in the village which I was incredibly charmed by. You can speak to all the villagers, who comment on you depending on your popularity/renown - a nice little detail. It would be nice to have a few more intractables like the game scattered around - maybe a way to find wild dragons? I might've missed some stuff but I did get a sense that what I'd seen of the world was just about it. Still, it's nice and open and gives you a lot of space to ride the dragon - and I was pretty endeared to the fact that the dragon struggles to navigate forests on the ground. It makes sense! Occasionally, I ran into a few bugs - after defeating the great pirate ship, my dragon got glitched spawning water effects around itself and wouldn't lower himself or let me dismount, but reloading the game fixed it and I didn't run into anything more gamebreaking than that. The translation could use some work but it's clear enough and communicates well what you're supposed to do, so I don't mind at all. Definitely worth it for the price point.

The graphics look nice, the gameplay isn't bad either. I think it has potential. It would be perfect if the story gets richer..
