Bought the game and had to restart the same first map six times because of glitches. They have a discord where you can post under bug reports and there are tons of game breaking bugs that have not been fixed. I love these types of risk of rain games but this is not cooked all the way.
I have posted the bugs under my discord handle if you would like to see just message me.

I have only been playing for a few hours but I have really been enjoying my time with the game! The art style is fun, the music is great and the game play loop was a lot of fun. I especially like the movement system, it really encourages constant movement and dodging while firing away at the waves of enemies. I encountered a few minor bugs, but nothing big. I also tried some multiplayer which seemingly worked perfectly. I am really excited to see what comes in the future for this game! I definitely recommend picking it up.

I’ve only played ATOMIC PICNIC for about an hour, but as a 3D artist, I’ve gotta say—I’m seriously impressed. The art style is super vibrant and fun, with lots of cool details that feel polished even in early access. You can tell the devs put a lot of thought into making it look good without overloading the performance
I’m super excited to unlock more characters and weapons! Even in early access, the devs clearly know what they’re doing. Can’t wait to see how it grows! 10/10

Ill start off with the positives,
- The Movement feels very nice and it keeps you engaged within the game.
- The Curio system is really cool and i enjoy a lot of the upgrades that are offered
Now for the negatives,
The game is a joke and since it seems to be on purpose its hard to hate the developers for it, the difficulty scaling of this game is just making the enemy's bullet sponges while making it practically impossible for you to increase your own damage except through a very streamlined build as far as I've seen. I'm not sure why but almost all the ground units just look like evolution's of squirtle from Pokemon which is hilarious in its own right. The enemy units have good variety and they come at you quick so you do need to pay attention in order to dodge effectively but almost all their attacks are area based attacks so if you get swarmed too quickly your going to die pretty quick.
Overall as i said earlier this game is a joke with no intent on hiding it, the difficulty scaling, enemy character variety, and enemy attack types make the game feel incredibly lazy and hard to like. I would describe this game as a children's coloring book that has been brought to life, it looks visually pleasing and runs decently but everything in it is AS ADVERTISED with really no depth whatsoever from the weapons you unlock to the enemy's you fight. If this game was anything more than 20$ I'd call it a soulless cash-grab but since they kept the price low you don't end feeling too bad about wasting the money and time to play this game if you were hoping for a full in depth rouge like.
I'd give this game 3.5/10 and recommend it for anybody who appreciates visuals more than depth. For people such as myself however i would say steer clear.

Get it on sale its like a $10 type game. Pretty fun but does feel like a watered down "Risk of Rain 2".

This game is simple and fun but once you reach the pillars stage on the first map everything becomes unplayable choppy the entire rest of the game, like frame rates of 1 frame per seconds stuff level bad. ive got a 2k pc and im on the lowest graphics settings this game offers and the entire experience becomes unplayable, no matter how fun it is when it does work, because the optimisation or who knows what is making it chop and lag and rubberband to infinity. if i have my settings on the lowest settings and its still performing like this then it just isnt fun

Actually quite fun and does a good job at translating the survivor-like gameplay loop to a 3D environment. The characters are quite fun and the devs are actually responsive to player feedback. The biggest complaint I would have is some lack of build diversity. There aren't very many evolutions, and they're really strong so there's not much incentive to collect any items that don't evolve.

With a first major update none of the core issues have been fixed. Solo is still borderline unplayable, most of the powerups you get either do nothing meaningful or not enough. You can only progress game with extremely specific build of best powerups, there is no room for improvisation, trying something new or just getting unlucky choices.
Fun concept, terrible roguelike part implemention.

I hate writing negative reviews, however,
All the enemies are bullet sponges and the movement is clunky. NOT a fun experience, with a very repetitive and unoriginal gameplay loop. I love me a good roguelite and have played many, from roboquest to isaac, but find this one to lack any sort of depth as compared to the other games I mentioned. As for looks, it's a very aesthetically pleasing game with clean effects but that's unfortunately about as far as the positives go.
I'm sorry, Atomic Picnic. I hope you get better as development continues.
