Various Daylife is a very good contender for the worst RPG I have ever played. Its shocking that this was made by the Octopath Traveler devs, in which I consider Octopath Traveler II to be one of my favorite RPGs ever. If the mostly negative reviews didn't stop you, allow me to share my experience I had with this game. The Gameplay/Various Daylife This game really didn't feel like it had any soul in it at all. To start, when traveling to different areas is always 2D, which is not necessarily a bad thing, but the execution is terrible. The characters felt really bland and boring and I had little interest in the overall problem (although I barely remember it). Otherwise you perform "Varous Daylife" tasks to improve your stats. There is no minigame or anything to do. You just upgrade your stats with the tasks given to you and you become stronger. Incredibly bad system. The Combat The combat overall is the worst part, it felt like regardless of what I did I could always defeat the enemy. There was some interesting combo potential, but it wasn't well executed at all. There were certain times at the beginning where I chose a move and it didn't deduct any SP or HP from my character, and did the powerful move anyway. I also failed to mention that when your exploring, there is no way to control your characters directions or actions except when in battle. In Octopath Traveler, you could go off the main path and find a chest that rewarded you for going a different path, or in some instances you would find a difficult new area where all the enemies would kill you easily. Not here tho! The characters just walk in a straight line and don't do anything until they've walked enough steps to find the boss. The first boss was so easy that he didn't even attack me once and it was a incredibly boring and bland battle. Overall, this game is not fun in the slightest. I was actually in pain every moment I was playing this game. I mean look at the title screen its a nearly 1:1 copy of Octopaths, but with a different background and name. AVOID AT ALL COSTS, this game is not even fun as a joke. DO NOT BUY!!!!
