The last two fights, but the final fight especially on "hard" difficulty is far too unbalanced and just drags on forever.
The major problem being that the enemy boss teleports on set locations which are chosen somewhat random (mostly near you) which can really screw you over.
The second big problem is that he can cast very large red beams that do a lot of damage with very narrow beams, or deploys bombs around the arena that do a lot of damage, which wouldn't be that big of a problem if you could run or at the very least not crawl. That's right your character has no idea what running or even walking means, he can only move at a snail's pace.
Thirdly the boss also spawns far too many enemies (especially towards the end of the fight), while also expecting you to fight and dodge the bosses attacks (which mostly do a lot of damage).
Fourthly the battle drags on for so long because most enemies, and the boss especially, are bullet sponges and it takes forever to kill anything.
In the end it becomes more a matter of dumb luck that the game doesn't screw you over with it's randomness than it has anything to do with skill.
Overall the game is extremely basic and the only thing you do is fight from one room to the next. The path is as linear as it can get and rooms are largely empty with the minimal amount of items. The combat, weapons and enemies are very basic. There is absolutely nothing to explore outside the main objective. It's also a very short game, there are three fairly short chapters to complete, if you don't play on hard (so don't let my time fool you) where you have to replay the same fight over and over again (mostly the last part). I love the show, and I was actually having fun for the most part with the game, until the last two fights which are just a grind (and it's not just because I'm so bad at the game). Just totally sucked out all the fun at the end.

FINALLY ADDED SUPPORT FOR STEAM VR!
2/18/22 UPDATE: Devs released update for Steam VR headsets (Vive/Index) Game now works as it should.
First off, Final Space is awesome. I was excited to learn there was a VR game in the works.
The game has the feel of FS and feels authentic. It is a bit short but enjoyed playing Co-OP, I think we played through all 3 chapters in under an hour or so. It would be even better if they plan on adding content in the future to add to replayability. Regardless, it filled the need for some more Final Space.
The game is arcadey, quick and fun.
2/16/22 UPDATE: Support has stated they are working on a fix for HTC/Index Headsets and should be ready soon. Will update review once it's fixed and playable.
As other users have also stated, this does NOT work in Steam VR. I have 2 different gaming PC's, one with a VIVE Pro and one with a Cosmos Elite and neither headsets will get the game running properly.
It appears that the Developers left VR disabled for SteamVR when they published, as this was on Oculus initially.
Others have stated it runs fine on Oculus headsets.
PLEASE FIX.

As a fan of Final Space, this was satisfying to finally play this game, just hearing the characters in a game that in 3D kept the same look and feel of the show was worth the wait.
Wouldn't say it's without problems though. It would have been nice to reconfigure the controllers, attack enemies in melee, and for the grenade launcher to make an actual dent in the Guardian enemy.
Also I played on solo, and despite managing to get through all three chapters I don't think the game balances for solo players. Even a friend of mine tried co-op with one person and they found Normal difficulty a struggle.
Definitely a VR game for the die-hard fans of the show, just not as solid for VR gamers who like shooters.

It got my height correct straight from the get go unlike most other games was really nice to pick things up off the floor, And within ten mins I'd already laughed my ass off a couple of times, screamed for a cookie and cried for Mooncake. Good game, few minor bugs but plenty fun! Only real complaint is the length, but who knows we might get more chapters in the future.

This is a fun game! I was surprised how polished it is. A very simple, arcade shooter with a cool cartoon atmosphere. Looking forward to trying it co op! 4 player co op is super rare for VR, and highly appreciated.
*If I had one complaint, it would be that the movement speed is a bit slow. Some more speed would make this a lot more fun!
Other than that, I really enjoyed it!

pro tip: you can turn vignetting off
other than it being on by default, this is a great game, especially with friends. It's short but fun and worth the money for any Final Space fan.
Oh and buy the graphic novel coming soon!

This game had some issues when it was originally launched with all VR Headsets except oculus ones.
But now the devs updated the game and it works on many other supported models as Vive ones.
I managed to test this further and now it rocks on my Vive PRO!
The game looks and plays as a good arcade FPS with good cartoon enemies and visuals, mixed with humor and action moments .
Weapons are mostly automatic with different shooting styles like machine guns, shotgun, plasma gun, pistol, grenade launcher, etc.
You are moving inside a prison that is now full of enemy clones and other nasty monsters/suprises.
The shooting part is a fast arcade either on narrow passages or defending a sector level to achieve specific objetives.
So far I have to say it is good casual FPS fun, you can rise the difficulty so there is also a good challenge to overcome chaotic shootings.
Cons:
It seems to be only 3 levels as those appear listed from starters.
Will finish the game then and confirm...
But I can still recommend it because I'm enjoying it :)

Very fun. Tribore can stare into your soul six times deeper than any of the other characters. Also we get cookies.
On a more serious note, this game just makes me happy. The gameplay and art style are a lot of fun (although I do wish there was a sprint option). But my favorite thing is definitely the dialogue and the soundtrack. Both make me want to rewatch the show over and over again.

A fun little extra side story from the Final Space franchise. Its by no means Half Life Alyx, but if you're into Final Space and enjoy arcade style first person shooters, then this is probably right up your alley. You have 4 options to play as your favorite Final Space character and can play with up to 3 other people in co-op. While the gameplay leans to a more arcade style, you are free to roam the ship on a linear path while you shoot you way through hoards of robots.
It makes me sad knowing that Final space has ended on season 3 without a solid conclusion but this was a nice little surprise for fans of the series. Seems to be fully voiced by the original cast or at least, very convincing soundalikes. At $15 it is definitely worth it for fans of the series or even for someone just looking for a polished, co-op, PVE shooter that they can jump in and out of with friends and family.

(Using Oculus Rift)
If you're both a fan of Final Space and an owner of a VR set, then I'd say this game is worth it.
I'm writing this review just as I completed the game, which was just shy of 2 hours long for me.
The game plays much like a classic FPS: after picking your favorite member of Team Squad, you are given a generic pistol and can pick up cooler weapons you find later on. You walk down linear corridors and shoot bad guys, occasionally finding yourself fighting off waves of bads in a big arena. As you progress through the game, different enemies with different mechanics appear to challenge you.
If you're looking for a state of the art VR shooter experience, you might want to keep looking. While this game seems to run great and was a fun time overall, it was noticeably short and doesn't really boast any incredibly innovative gameplay that hasn't been done in dozens of other VR Shoot-'Em-Ups.
But like I said already: if you enjoyed the show (and are just as devastated by the cancellation as I am) and you have the system to play this, just pick it up. I don't think you'll regret it.
