Performance problems ruined the game. Ive played in multiple systems and it just cant run at a stable fps
Serious Sam 4 had the same problem, and now it's even worse here.

I have been a Serious Sam fan since the beginning. When I say from the beginning I mean literally from the beginning. My cousin got a copy of Serious Sam: The First Encounter and me and him played it Co-Op on a 56k Dial-up. Never got to play The Second Encounter until some 15 years later. I played through the series HD Editions and loved almost every second of it. Hated the jump pads of Second Encounter but grew to love them because the give and take of the flow of combat remained the same.
What I witnessed playing this game is a butchery of Serious Sam to a degree. When I played SS3 and there was soooooo much hate for it I didn’t understand. SS3 is great. It's a nice combination of linear push & pull spawns Vs. overwhelming the player to the point where it's not exhausting....When SS4 came out I realized there was a certain art to Serious Sam games. When I say there was "A Certain Art," what I mean is the developers had a knack for using the spawn system to essentially create a "Push & Pull," between the user and the game. It was very linear but at the same time every time you started to feel you were pushing forward the spawns would double or amp up and become more creative which would force you back another 100 Ft. It never felt unfair...or like the game was overwhelming you because you had ALL the firepower to overcome it. The gadget mechanic is fine but it feels like it’s the modern SS games over rely on them.
I want to like Serious Sam 4 & Siberian Mayhem but I cannot. I am going to give the modern Serious Sam & Siberian Mayhem a thumbs up because they are still super fun to play Co-Op but it feels like that is strictly how they are balanced. Playing them solo on Serious went from being manageable to completely absurd and un-fun with Serious Sam 4 and Siberian Mayhem UNLESS you use gadgets, which is fine but when so many of the large scales rely on you using those gadgets it starts to lose its identity.
Co-Op is still amazing without gagets.... I had as much fun as I did some years ago on a dial up connection. It's so much funner with someone else. It's almost like the game was designed with Co-Op in mind.
I love Serious Sam 4 and Siberian Mayhem as a Co-Op experience but solo it really stunk. Find a balance like the classic Serious Sam games and stop focusing on completely overwhelming the player and find a fun combination of pushing the player back than allowing them to push forward, then pushing them back again. Something has been lost on this franchise and I'm not sure if it will ever be regained but I truly hope it will because there is definitely a market for a game that has the kind of gameplay as SS1 &2 had.

Serious Sam: Siberian Mayhem is a standalone but from the gameplay perspective an add-on to Serious Sam 4. It has a new story, new enemies new weapons and new special-items. Additionally it has some survival Levels. For me a must play for every Serious Sam fan. The game runs fine and was for about 8 hours pure fun.
