A little grindy, but fun and straight forward. Works and plays as expected and I always enjoy defense games. Some nice to have features in the future: - More interesting/varied levels. Staircases/ladders for enemies to transition between floors. Different placement of the queen/start. Multiple starts for enemies - A building/lantern for generating scrap. Gold isn't a problem once you get the inn, but I have to farm ballistas to get scrap. - Endless mode Keep developing! I'm enjoying the game =)

Super cool pixel art graphics and unique concept. There is a lot to improve as the devs state but I totally recommend the game.

I found this game with a lot of my indie developer friends on Twitter. I have to say I love the aesthetic as it reminds me of the card game Boss Monster a lot. There is some initial grinding but so far the game works fine and plays like a typical tower defense game. I kind of wish the enemies were a bit more animated. I was very surprised when a Ram showed up to run at my defenses! The hotkey for the tower defense is ok, but I feel like the game would be a little better if it took the approach that plants vs zombies did by making the player pick their defenses before hand. I feel like I got my money's worth out of the game and that it is worth the discounted price I paid, but the full 19.99 is reasonable given that fast food is 11-13 these days. Verdict - worth the money in it's current form and I can't wait to see it get better as the developer adds more traps and enemies while polishing it up along the way.

Edit: I no longer recommend this game. The only reason I don't change the rating, is for the visibility of this review. It has been almost a year now and there haven't been any updates so far. I gave this game originally a positive review in the assumption, that it was meant as early access and that it would be worked on. Considering that it seems to be stuck in EA without any updates or posts from the devs leaves me wondering if it has been abandoned. I will change my review, should it ever receive an update, but I can't recommend abandonware. Fun little Tower Defense game with cute pixelart. What I would like to see in future updates: - Additional, more complex music being added. As it is now, the music loop gets incredibly repetitive and I had to mute it. - Damage numbers and remaining HP in numbers. The healthbar is ok, but not sufficient. Toggle on/off for damage numbers would be nice. - Damage animation: the faint red glow isn't enough. Some bloodsplatters and damage models would spice things up. - Allow the player to click on the trap he wants to build. Grey it out, and when he wants to place it without having enough resources, remind him that he can't place it yet. Currently, I have to wait until I have enough resources to choose the build-mask of the trap, which makes things more hectic than they need to be. - Let the player know what damage a trap deals in the trap info box. - Let the player know what type of monsters he will encounter in the upcoming level (Ground, Flying, Boss, etc.). This way he can decide whether or not to repeat a previous wave. - Speed up wave and early start of next wave: The pacing can be a bit slow, especially when grinding. The option to speed up the wave and to skip to the next wave (eventually for additional gold and/or scraps) would be a welcome quality of life improvement. - Show countdown of time remaining until next wave spawns.
