𝗔𝗕𝗢𝗨𝗧 𝗡𝗜𝗡𝗝𝗔 𝗚𝗔𝗜𝗗𝗘𝗡 Σ 𝟮 I Highly recomend this game, but you have to use some mods in order to get the NINJA GAIDEN 2 experience. Some mandatory mods for me: -𝗠𝗼𝗱 𝗟𝗼𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿 (𝗯𝘆 𝗧𝗶𝗮𝗻𝗺𝘂𝘅𝗶𝗮) -𝗡𝗚𝗦𝟮 𝗕𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗸 (𝗯𝘆 𝗙𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗯𝘂𝘀𝗮) -𝗡𝗠 𝗠𝗼𝗱 (𝗯𝘆 𝗡𝗼𝘇𝗼𝗺𝗶 𝗠𝗶𝘆𝗮𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗶) -𝘅𝟯𝟲𝟬 𝗡𝗚𝟮 𝗨𝗜 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗛𝗨𝗗 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 (𝗯𝘆 𝗧𝗵𝗲𝗘𝗿𝘆𝗸𝟮𝟱) -𝗡𝗚𝗦𝟮 𝗨𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗡𝗚𝟮 𝗖𝘂𝘁 𝗪𝗲𝗮𝗽𝗼𝗻 𝗦𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱 (𝗯𝘆 𝗗𝗲𝘃𝗶𝗹𝗰𝗮𝗯𝗮𝗴𝗲)𝗜𝗡𝗝𝗔 𝗚𝗔𝗜𝗗𝗘𝗡 Σ 𝟮 Those mods enhances NGΣ2 experience, making it a viable choice between NG2 and modded Σ2, at least for me. The base game is trash for a Ninja Gaiden Fan. But even the worst version of Ninja Gaiden 2, it's a good game. Anyway, i highly suggest to play this games with those mods :) 𝙏𝙝𝙖𝙣𝙠𝙨 𝙩𝙤 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙢𝙤𝙙𝙙𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙘𝙤𝙢𝙢𝙪𝙣𝙞𝙩𝙮, 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝙢𝙖𝙠𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙨 𝙜𝙖𝙢𝙚 𝙞𝙨 𝙥𝙡𝙖𝙮𝙖𝙗𝙡𝙚 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝙢𝙚, 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙨𝙤𝙢𝙚𝙩𝙞𝙢𝙚𝙨 𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙣 𝙢𝙤𝙧𝙚 𝙚𝙣𝙟𝙤𝙮𝙖𝙗𝙡𝙚 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙣 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙊𝙧𝙞𝙜𝙞𝙣𝙖𝙡 𝙉𝙂𝟮.

Game was going okay at best, then I ran into the statue of liberty boss, and I don't know if I ran into a unique bug, but no attack from any weapon was hitting on the final attack. I am not dealing with this bullshit from a dumbass boss fight that wasn't in the base game.

"Hey I know we're already removing a bunch of the original encounters and tweaking bosses. What should we do about the water dragon for Sigma 2?" "Oh, just limit the entire fight to a single platform." "Won't that remove the player's ability to dodge certain attacks? And remove the dynamic of deciding between attacking underwater or while running on the surface? And make the fight needlessly tedious as they'll only have time for 1-2 hits between attack cycles, y'know since ranged attacks lock them in place too long to avoid the tracking water blasts?" "Yeah, ship it." Turning one of the coolest fights in the game and the only good water boss in recent memory into a fight that's a nightmare on higher difficulties with unavoidable damage is a joke and not a funny one. But then you realize it's now the only boss in the game you can perfect by sitting in one spot and spamming ultimate technique with no consequence and then you can't help but laugh(it's so sad it wraps back around to being funny). Just emulate the OG Black 2 at this point. You owe it to yourself.

BLUF: This is probably deserving of "Action Game Hall of Fame" status, you gotta play it! When I jumped into this game after finishing my 1st NG game, Sigma 1, I was surprised to see the big departure in terms of game design. Contrary to the 1st game in the collection, this one is more focused on pure action and less on exploration & simple puzzles. Are you going to like it? I personally loved it, it plays & focuses on its strengths streamlining the experience with the objective of giving you highly dense gameplay. You will never be sleeping at the wheel because you're never lost, always heading to the next combat encounter & getting better at disposing of numerous enemies. Again, getting this on PC gives you access to mods like Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 Black which restores features from the Xbox 360 original and makes for a significantly better experience IMHO. I enjoyed this game so much, I kept playing until I became a Master Ninja!

Ninja Gaiden 2, for some reason abandons the fantastic level design for the first game and goes for a straight up linear level to level approach. It still a great game, but a big step back from the original. Regardless if it's the original Ninja Gaiden 2 or Sigma 2, this is still a tight and fun action game. The combat is much faster than the original almost to a fault. In some ways, it's easier and you can get away with abusing Ultimate Attacks and basically watching Ryu kill everything instead of actually fighting the enemies yourself, but at the same time is very satisfying.
