Having grown up with Lego video games, this game is a cute extension of what Lego video games can be. I enjoyed the gameplay, game mechanics, the simple story, and the look of the game. My only problem was that I never got the hang of the controls over the course of the short game. I also didn't find it relaxing. There were times where getting the Lego in the exact spot I wanted proved more frustrating than relaxing when I passed the spot and then overcorrected and passed it again.

Lego Builder’s Journey is a beautifully crafted, short puzzle game that delivers a surprisingly emotional and visually stunning experience. Clocking in at around three hours, the game doesn’t overstay its welcome but still manages to provide a satisfying journey. The puzzles are mostly on the easier side, making for a relaxing and enjoyable play through. That said, I did find myself stuck on a couple of them, which added just enough challenge to keep things interesting. The game’s ray tracing is absolutely gorgeous, bringing the Lego bricks to life with stunning lighting and reflections that make every scene look like a meticulously built diorama. While the story is a bit odd at times, the father/son adventure at its core is touching and adds a nice emotional depth to the experience. Completing the game was rewarding, and achievement hunters will be happy to know that reaching 100% is quite easy. Overall, Lego Builder’s Journey was well worth the money. It’s a relaxing, visually impressive, and engaging puzzle game that any Lego or puzzle fan should consider picking up.

A really cute game! It kept me entertained for 2.5 hours, the story was great for having absolutely no words. Well done, a piece of art.

Beautiful little game, both aesthetically and story-wise. The little marks on the plastic bricks are a nice touch. Soundtrack and sound effects are wonderful too, in particular
the ending with the flag click
. I found some of the things in the puzzles and story to be genius and delightful. I would suggest only getting this on a steep sale though; the story mode only lasted 2 hours for me. Criticisms: I would agree that the controls are slightly counter-intuitive, however they're workable once you got used to them. One type of puzzle (specifically
the one involving cloning bricks
) felt a bit repetitive to me and not very intellectually interesting, but the rest are quite fun. It can sometimes be difficult to place pieces where you want it and identify which ones are actually movable and not part of the environment as a YT video noted, and sometimes you may miss a hidden plastic piece behind what you're building.

Very cozy and comfy game, which tells a short story by progressing through a small levels, each including a mostly simple puzzle you have to solve to progress to the next one. A great thing to spend your weekend lunch siesta on.

After competing the game I can say for certain the most difficult part was the controls. Using the same button to both place and rotate whatever piece you are holding feels like something intentionally over-designed to be minimalist first and functional second. I constantly placed pieces when I meant to rotate them and rotated pieces when I meant to place them. (Not to mention issues selecting the pieces to pick up in the first place.) The controls feel like they were designed for a touch screen. Don't get it for more than $5.

Game kinda ****s. *****y controls, constantly fumbling, rotating, misplacing pieces, due to the snap effect, the game trying to help place, but ends up being equally unhelpful. The mechanics and pacing are kind of all over the place, although it is generous in letting you figure out how to move level to level, without much penalty, so definitely for casual/younger people in mind. There really isn't much to it though, the levels are very small, and mostly, very straightforward, so kind of on auto pilot to reach the end. Also, the default graphics settings had DLSS enabled, and Ray Tracing, creating a very scratchy effect that wasn't very appealing, and while trying to disable, or reduce them, found I could not scroll to the bottom of the graphics menu, so no idea what is enabled or not, or if it's burning out my GPU. For what I could disable, the next level I saw a flash, and a black spot appear on screen, and when I went to rotate the camera, the spot grew and swallowed my entire screen, and even restarting the level did not help (this is a true story). Buy on sale for sure, 20 is pretty high..

Fun little short game that has 2-3 hours of game-play. I bought it on sale at 75% off. It's the kind of game you play once. In less you want to use the creative mode.

It is a really nice little gem but works more like a tech demo to show how great graphics could look. You are done in less then 2h and you will get a 100% of achievments. Nothing is missable here. Not really working on SteamDeck in my opinion. You should play it on a high end PC. the price of 17€ is too high. 5€ is in my eyes the right amount.

Asking $20 for this game is a bit insulting, to be honest. I completed the game in about 2 hours, and I'm no master at puzzles. Don't get me wrong, it's very cute, and it looks gorgeous. But way, way too much effort was put into graphics, resulting in a game that looks great, but is disappointingly shallow. It's worth no more than $5, in my opinion.
