Point & Click meets Sidescroller Beat´em up. Nice Mix, although the P&C Part is very simple and comes too short imo. So don´t expect a P&C Adventure with tough or even a lot of Puzzles. It´s more the way you play as the Genre itself. The Beat´em up Part is Challenging, for me at least. Not a lot of Combos, but just enough for a good Brawler. Different enough Enemies to keep you busy and thinking which you should pick first and how. Plus good Boss Fights.
Funny Dialogues for the most Part, but that depends, like always, on your Mood and your kind of Humor. Lots of References to the 80´s as well.
Grafics are Pixel Art done right.
So this is a well made Game, fun to play and therefore i recommend it.
Edit: I did mention a Bug, but they fixed it. So thanks to the Dev´s and nothing left that should stop you from playing. Enjoy :)

Scrap Riders is a true hidden gem in the gaming world, offering a unique blend of point-and-click adventure and 2D side-scrolling brawler mechanics. Initially, the game faced some technical issues at launch, but in my recent playthrough, I encountered no crashes or bugs, indicating that the developers have since addressed these problems.
The gameplay of Scrap Riders is split into two engaging styles. The point-and-click adventure segments require players to find items or help characters to progress the story. This aspect is enriched by the humorous banter between the main character and his robot sidekick. The dialogue is witty, filled with clever references to retro titles and classic movies, and the game is peppered with small Easter eggs for players to discover as they explore.
The second gameplay style involves 2D side-scrolling brawling, reminiscent of classics like Double Dragon and Final Fight. The combat system, while basic, requires strategic gameplay rather than simple button-mashing. Boss battles are challenging but manageable if players take the time to learn the patterns and tactics of their opponents. This balance of difficulty ensures that the game remains engaging without becoming frustrating.
Graphically, Scrap Riders excels with its pixel art style, which is both nostalgic and visually appealing. The game environments, though small, are densely packed with interesting details and a distinct cyberpunk aesthetic. This is particularly evident when players transition from the badlands to the mega city, where the game truly comes to life with vibrant, atmospheric settings.
One of the game's strengths is its lack of grinding. Each objective moves the story forward, maintaining a brisk pace that keeps players engaged. The game is relatively short, taking around 5-8 hours to complete, depending on how much time players spend exploring and interacting with characters. This duration is perfect for the type of experience Scrap Riders offers, ensuring that the game remains fresh and enjoyable throughout.
The story is compelling, filled with twists and turns that keep players invested. The main character's quest to recover a stolen item from the head gang that has taken over the mega city is well-crafted and intriguing. The narrative is further enhanced by the engaging and often funny dialogue, which adds depth and personality to the characters and the world they inhabit.
In conclusion, Scrap Riders is a fantastic game that successfully combines elements of adventure and brawler genres. Its engaging story, witty dialogue, and beautiful pixel art make it a standout title that deserves more recognition. If you're a fan of 2D side-scrolling brawlers with a bit of adventure thrown in, Scrap Riders is highly recommended. This game offers a refreshing experience that will keep you entertained from start to finish.

Who wouldn't love a mix about some kind of Mad Max beat'em up with a Monkey Island-ish point and click adventure? Definitely cool and original! :3
Kudos to the writing! I expected it to be funny, but it totally caught me by surprise. If a game has some clever puns and manages to make me smile definitely is worth to recommend! :D
