Remember playing this as a kid and I could not pass the first level. Tried it now and I still can not ;^(

Old, clunky, unbalanced
Enemy encounters are as brutal as Sniper class is OP.
Engage in fair combat - you will take losses. Take a sniper and solo wipe out the whole map - you win. Have a mission where you have to rely on other troop members to defend certain position, when the enemy count is too high - well, on max difficulty they will just die regardless of what you do. You have to defend that stupid position, so you leave troops there, and you can't solo the enemy army properly in time, so they die, you lose.

Honestly one of my top favorite "classic" games, I remember when I was a kid the graphics felt so real, now they feel so nostalgic, I'd recommend this game to anyone who's into commanding squads and enjoying a fire fight. You will lose troops due to sneaky combatants but you will learn not to rush through levels and take your time and strategies. Good luck and have fun 10/10 game.

Well developed storyline.
Relatively old fashioned but still tense and challenging.

Got the game in a bundle, but the game didn't work, not even after a week of back and forth with the developer to see where the issue was. I wanted to return the game (I played less than 2 hours, 5 minutes at most and all of it was spent on attempting to open the game, which my pc turned off imminently after starting) but Steam didn't allow it to do so because I played more than 2 hours in one of the other games in the bundle and I can't refund one game when you buy in bulk, you refund the whole bundle *sight*
Anyway, managed to make it play on an old Laptop, other than the quality since it's an old game, it's doable, wouldn't buy it if you aren't a die-hard Ghost Recon fan.

I have played this game alot more hours than steam says. I played it alot on boarding school with one of my current friends - so many good memories with this game. Of playing in co-op and using tactial coordination to complte mission together.
I wish Ubisoft makes a modern remake of this!

The original Ghost Recon is an amazing and hardcore tactical experience that differs greatly from its more modern sequels.
You start each mission on the loadout screen where you can choose the ghosts you want to send out, each of whom have certain skills and equipment that others don't. You have to plan carefully depending on the mission description. If you choose the wrong loadout, you could be in for a world of pain and sometimes it's even close to impossible to finish certain missions if you're not careful. Enemies mostly die after taking one bullet to the chest, but so do you, so be very careful. From a technical standpoint, it's astonishing that this game doesn't need any mods or community patches. It runs at high resolutions and 60+ fps without any issue out of the box and that should be commended.
The only thing I didn't like is that sometimes the AI pathfinding is awful and your teammates get stuck on walls or doorways. You can switch to them and move them around, so it's not gamebreaking, but it's definitely annoying.
Even though it's 24 years old, Ghost Recon is truly a timeless masterpiece. 10/10
