Very similar to one of my recent favorite games, Dysmantle, but with some flaws. I did not enjoy the base defence aspect and some enemies killing you with one or two hits is kinda ridiculous in a game like this. And the ending shenanigans almost made me want to give this a thumbs down. Almost. But in the end I did enjoy this game and I don't really understand some of the negative reviews.

Welcome to ParadiZe is a top-down twin shooter, and as a result, the gameplay is well-structured. You can give your own mind a break, because all you have to do is mow down or shoot the zombies. This then yields a huge amount of loot, which you'll really need. You'll regularly have to repair your own camp because it's under attack. You also need the materials to craft ammunition and new weapons. Exploring the world completely unprepared is out of the question, because you'll quickly die. There are dozens of zombies, and the heat in the desert causes dehydration. Besides the familiar zombies, I also regularly encountered animals. The spit of a zombie llama isn't exactly something you want to get in your face. The best part is the fights with the animals that have escaped from the circus. You'll soon encounter an elephant that's all too happy to stick its trunk in a pool of blood and then spray you. These aren't always easy fights, so you shouldn't just go on the offensive like an idiot.
Welcome to ParadiZe isn't a high-end game, but it's still an entertaining way to spend your time. The game isn't serious, which creates humor in the dialogue and story. The gameplay is also satisfying, as you can defeat the wild zombies with various weapons and the help of your zombots. Building your camp isn't particularly extensive, and the zombot pathing makes protecting it a bit tricky. Still, it fits the game well and doesn't cause any problems for the first few hours. The biggest drawback of Welcome to ParadiZe is the lack of optimization in the later areas and the rather dull world. Sometimes, however, you just want a simple game with effective gameplay, and that's exactly what this game offers. There's nothing more fun than mowing down zombies while the upbeat music plays in the background.
The standout mechanic is hacking zombies to make them your helpers. Whether they're defending your base, fighting enemies, or performing chores, this system adds an amusing layer of strategy. Watching your undead butler serve drinks is as ridiculous as it is fun. Welcome to ParadiZe doesn’t take itself too seriously, with cartoonish visuals, tongue-in-cheek writing, and absurd character interactions. It has charm, especially if you're into offbeat comedy in games like Sunset Overdrive or Borderlands. The game shines in co-op with up to 4 players. Exploring, looting, and defending your camp with friends enhances the fun and balances some of the rougher edges.
