BloodRayne 2 is a very good sequel. It does what every sequel should do. It adds more content. More weapons, more gameplay, more skills, more variety and better graphics. The game takes place in the 2000's (I think) and certainly has a story. I have no idea what it was since I skipped the cutscenes. You still have your blades but now you also get a gun. The gun uses blood as ammo so you have to refill it by draining your enemies of their blood. As you progress in the game, you unlock more firing modes. Your powers also returns. The game also introduces platforming. While it's great to break up the combat with some platforming, it's not done well here. Rayne sometimes ignores ledges or just jumps in the wrong directions. It's manageable most of the time but still noticeable. You also have more enemy variety but not nearly enough to prevent the game from getting repetitive. The graphics are better, with more interesting levels, sections in daylight and a better sense of place. It's still a early 2000's low budget game but it's an improvement from the previous one. I do recommend this game but I like the first one more. It just felt better to control.

A highly entertaining vampire action game with a pinch of horny class. Almost flawlessly blends the mechanics of the hack and slash genre with those of 3D fighters in a way that's not too cumersome or worse, mediocre. The sound design is immaculate with even small things such as Rayne's heels hitting stone flooring oozing of audible detail. How this is considered the "bad game" of the Bloodrayne franchise is beyond me, as everything about it makes it one of my highest regarded cult classics.
