Overall I love this game. I thrive on tasks, or quests in a game, other wise I get bored. This game has plenty of side quests that play along side the main quests. I will say one of the parts I dislike is that it can be difficult to figure out how to trigger some of the side quests. The farming element is good for when you have lower damage weapons or lack armor, but is a quick way to make some extra pennies for upgrades later on. Some enemies are very overpowered though, and it takes way too long to get past them, which can be quite frustrating at times.

It took me around 25 hours to 100% this game, and it seems that other reviews did the same in a similar time. While I enjoy the art style, the game is overall mediocre at best. Kitaria is very easy throughout, but you may have to grind a little - the fastest grind by far is to kill the pixies at the blue lake, leave the area and reenter it over and over (the lake is as far left on the map as possible). These mobs give Amber and Leaves that can be sold for a very high price. Use the paw pennies to buy the best weapons from the pumpkin merchant.
The bow ability that knocks enemies back for ages is OP, and the 2nd to last boss is a huge difficulty spike and way harder than anything else in the game - it was the only time I died and ever had to use a consumable.
The most disappointing thing about the game is how lacklustre and short the dungeons are; they feel like a last minute bodge job. However I never got lost or needed a guide when playing Kitaria, which is a good thing. The game is often on sale - I got this for $3, and is definitely worth it at that price - hence my rating. Don't buy Kitaria at its original asking price ($26), as it is not worth it. Wait for a sale if you want to play this.
