Trash game and story. Terrible quality. No resources for some maps. Alliance last mission is impossible on the easiest mode. Winter kills the food and fish and hunting run out. People stave and all die. Terrible game. One of the worst pieces of sht. survival glitchy ( Random npc locked in front of fishing hut - prevents food drop) disgusting sub par game I have ever had the displeasure of playing. F you devs! I hope you all fail!

Ever wanted to play a game like Kenshi, but set in a grimdark Slavic fantasy world? Gord delivers exactly that. The atmosphere is thick; you’ll feel the seasons of the forest change as your settlement struggles to survive, and you’ll learn to recognize lurking horrors by the sounds they make in the dark. Your villagers aren’t just faceless workers, they have strengths, weaknesses, evolving skills and they even age over time. You can equip them, shift their roles and watch them grow or succumb to sickness and despair. That said, Gord is also super janky... the developers, some of whom previously worked on The Witcher series, clearly struggled to get everything working 100% from a technical and design standpoint. The game can be buggy as hell at times and some mechanics feel unintuitive or unbalanced. It’s a slow burn that demands patience, but the payoff is well worth it; the written folklore you collect throughout the game is fantastic and adds a ton of depth to the world, also, the artwork, voice acting, story and music are great. If you can handle the rough edges, try the campaign on permadeath and roll with the punches—bugs aside—it feels like the way the game was meant to be played. On a sale, given it’s issues, Gord is very worth it.

An interesting combination of a fairly simple city builder with team map exploration set in a Slavic dark fantasy world. I also really liked story and cutscenes. The big flaws that will probably scare away a large part of players are the quite numerous bugs - which, since the game came out 1.5 years ago, are unlikely to be fixed - and also not very user-friendly interface. These are the two things you will mainly be fighting with during the game... As proof, here are some of the bugs I encountered: - Sometimes characters stuck and can't move anymore... this happened to me several times during the campaign and is game breaking for me, as you can't use such villager anymore (and you're limited to only 16 characters). The only way to bypass this problem that I found was to set the autosave to save every minute (which is a bit annoying itself, as the game freezes for a second) and simply load the previous save when something like this happens. - Sometimes you're unable to finish free captives quest, as you're unable to free them (they are not clickable). - Sometimes you're unable to finish kill enemies at location guest, as there are no enemies at location. - Unique weapons sometimes just stop working until the end of map (they work again on next map). - Character orders not always comply (so after a while you start right clicking everything 2-3 times instead of 1). - Sometimes equipement is moving by itself or not moving when you try to do it - sometimes you can't change position of items on same character, you have to move it to other character and then move back on spot you want it to be, or drop on the ground and pick up again. This matters because if a character has more than one item of a given type, only the one on the left will work. - Unit selection not always work during tactical pause (you have to unpause game and pause again for it to work). - Once character with bow and rampage stucked on attack animation - can't attack and can't snap out of rampage. - Characters with speed boost sometimes circle around their target. - Full moon event is stupid as fuck, it totally fucks you up... it occurs when you play map for too long and generally reset mobs, treasures and resources... Two times it extended my nearly finished missions by over an hour. I understand what the idea behind this solution was, but it's execution is terrible, because in an advanced stage of the scenario, when you have most of the map already discovered and the villagers having gathered resources around the settlement, go to distant corners of the map to get more, suddenly the whole map is filled with monsters that attack your villagers scattered around the map - it is difficult not to lose anyone then and it takes a lot of time to clear the map enough to be able to collect resources again. - Familars (from alliance DLC) are sometimes blocked/stopped moving. Here are some examples of not user-friendly interface: - Equipment management is annoying, especially when all characters are already full of items, then the only option to pick new ones is to either throw the excess items on the ground or go to the alchemist and sell them... both activities are annoying and time-consuming. I don't understand why they didn't add some kind of general item storage on the inventory screen, especially since you can transfer items between any characters at any time, even if they are in different parts of the map. - Equipment management is a nightmare for another reason - each character can use three items, but they only work if the items are of different types... the problem is that there is no visual identification telling what type of item a given item is. It would have been enough to add some small type icon or borders in different colors. - On inventory screen you have to click apply for moved items to accept it - why? It's just one more click after managing inventory which you do A LOT. I've never once wanted to not save changes to my inventory, but I've often accidentally exited the view without pressing apply, which meant I had to do everything over again. - Notifications are not useful, as there are too many of them. It would be useful to have an option to set which notifications you want to pop up. - Map/minimap is not useful, for example when you want to check where hermits/witch/alchemist hut is (there is only one of each on the map), you have it marked with the same blue icon as for torches, campfires, totems and other useless crap... Also why are the yellow icons which are the main ones you might want to click on the minimap (as they are not always clearly visible but give resources and items) are under other ones? This makes picking stuff next to objects so much harder, even at the closest zoom. - Not enough info without senses view (for example bags on the ground are hard to find), too much info with senses view (for example why do I need to see health of deers?) - why can't we just configure what is visible? And why loose stones, treasure chests and forest graves in senses view sometimes have yellow glow, and sometimes purple one (like resources)? - Why can't we sort/change order of villagers? When you change profession, you'd want same workers next to each other. - Quest rewars are not pointed out enough, sometimes you don't notice that you gained new villager or new item. - You can't build in outpost when gord is breached... Why, if it's like a separate settlement in a different part of the map? Despite all these flaws I still liked the game, but it would be much better if instead of fighting it's mechanics, you could focus on fighting monsters...

Underrated game, it can be hard at times and requires some micromanaging but its pretty fun if given a chance I think most people which is probably the devs fault think this game is going to be a city builder which its not. My only real issue with the game is the age system doesn't make any sense nor does it really do anything at most every so often you need to replace a person who died with a slightly worse version after a mission its more annoying than anything but also the missions are taking place within months of each other at most, how is someone going from adult to elderly to dead in at most a couple of years realistically.

Gord impresses with an atmospheric setting and a promising core concept that suggests engaging city-building sessions. Unfortunately, the game fails in its execution. The gameplay feels too clunky; at times, it only seems to register the second click, as characters, for example, walk to the point instead of picking up an item you've selected. Instead of getting immersed in the game, players spend too much time micromanaging and correcting errors caused by the game itself. A particularly frustrating issue is the behavior of the workers: they often stand around idly for no apparent reason, even when assigned tasks. Additionally, the expansion system of the gord feels underdeveloped and lacks strategic depth. Overall, the game gives the impression of an Early Access version that still needs refinement. A real shame, as the concept had great potential. But in the end, frustration outweighs enjoyment – not a recommendation from me.
