Really, really, interesting hidden-object-esque game. The production were top-notch, like how much budget did they spend for hiring those amazing actors and actresses?????? It felt really real and also the secrets behind the film strips were just *chef-kiss*. You might confused and bored the first time you play, but when you unraveled the secrets, you will want to learn more. Also, many explicit scenes tho, so read the Content Warning before you started to play. Great game overall, something I never imagine to play before!

I really liked the other games made by this developer, but this one goes so far out of its way to be profane and offensive. I wanted to see if eventually it would find its way to a story that was interesting and not just shocking and disgusting, but it was not getting there. It has a constant theme of abusive sex, satanic sex, and base amoral behaviors that should offend anyone who subscribes to virtue in any form; including atheist. The front facing story is complete debauchery, and the story under it all is equally problematic. Every sexual scene involves violence or coercion of some kind.Nothing is tastefully done. Simply perverse, provocative and profane. Including themes of grape, incest, and domestic violence. I'm not Catholic, and even I found the table read with the priest detailing a sex scene while quoting scripture with the climax at Amen to be utterly derogatory, for no reason, adding nothing to the plot or story. It is not lost at all that the priest actor is made to look like Jesus while symbol of promiscuity is repeatedly positioned in ways that are visual representations of the virgin Mary. I will never buy anything this developer makes ever again.

The game feels pretty fun in the beginning but when you get a lot of footages (which is the CORE GAMEPLAY of the game) it starts to stuttle and lag after every video. It made unplayble for me at least, which makes me very sad because a I was pretty much liking it.

Immortality is an incredibly ambitious project that blends multiple layers of reality, including our own. As per Sam Barlow's games, it is an FMV project. No video game graphics involved. The production is very artistic and aesthetic in nature. The music is more present than in Telling Lies, serving to produce a somewhat old-timey movie vibe. It can be very relaxing or creepy, depending on context. The gameplay is a step up from Telling Lies in terms of navigation. The main gimmick of the game - the match cut transition - is a fun concept and a technical achievement unseen before. That said, it doesn't necessarily work better than good old text search. Discovering new clips is fun and engaging, but may become frustrating in the endgame, as you don't know if you're doing anything right. The lack of interface feedback substracts a bit of fun from the experience. However, this is a minor gripe. As per knowledge gate games, most of the gameplay happens inside your head and consists of figuring out the layered story. Overall, I can not stress enough how well-executed this project is and how great of a job the entire team has done. It is basically next-generation cinema which is much more engaging than most of what you can see on the big screen. It is a David Lynch inspired story that will stay with you long after you've finished the game. Highly recommended to both seasoned and casual gamers. Final score: 9,2

More of an interactive disjointed movie than a game. It was a novel and fantastic idea, and well executed for what it was, so I have to give a thumbs up just for the premise. However, it wasn't really for me. I don't have the kind of patience required to watch the movie clips and piece them all together. For others, this could really scratch an itch.

Lots of secrets and hidden meanings to find in this game and shows a darker side of film making behind the scenes. Like Sam Barlow's other games, it was great to try and piece together each of the 3 movies and try to understand it all. Cinematography and acting are really good. Content warning though as there's some 18+ scenes sprinkled throughout and some are a bit hard to watch if I'm being honest. Aside from that the only real downside once you find/unlock half the clips, the remaining are tedious to find. Even with a guide it was still tedious which is a real shame. I'd still recommend this for the story and mystery alone.

Turns out if you're just curious and imaginitive enough, you can stumble across the true ending, spoiling the whole game for yourself without actually seeing any of the important lore that leads up to it. This is a giant L imo, and a huge oversight in game design. I hate that I rolled credits very confused and had to get online to see why people liked it, only to find out that I missed 85% of the story because I had a sudden idea that ended up leading me right to the end.
