The game feels like a theme park ride with occasional shooting galleries. If you're buying this expecting dynamic environments and game systems to exploit and outfox your enemies, you may end up disappointed.

What a fantastic game for an even more fantastic price (like, 3 EUR when I got it). No woke DEI in sight, just a good, gory game! Love it!

Game is fun for the first few hours. I'd say 6 hours is nice. Bought the game for €3,99 (90% discount) and I think that's a suitable price.

Nobody who has had any part in making this game has ever shot a distance greater than 100 yards. they took good features from the first game and automated them, removing any of the fun of using or figuring them out (the in-scope rangefinder, utilizing windage and range markings on your scope to find your exact point of impact etc) It all feels *too* gamey now, they took all the thinking out of being a sniper. And I know what you're thinking "if you don't like it just turn off those UI elements" which doesn't work because when they're off the scope doesn't *have* windage markings at all and the range markings feel weakly dialed in. Additionally the dialogue is just wrong about so many things, the ranges the game demands in *the tutorial* are absurd for any sniper and are not indicative of the ranges you'll be shooting from in game with any degree of consistency, then has the nuts to call this variable distance ultra-long range shooting "zeroing the scope." It then immediately shuffled me into the camera drone tutorial and I audibly groaned because of how done to death the camera drone is in every tactical shooter ever and I just *knew* all the levels were going to be designed with the stupid fcker in mind. I silently resign myself to this fact only to have it knocked down out of the sky the moment I try to fly it to the waypoint because of a jamming tower they neglected to tell me about, likely as an introduction into the existence of the jamming tower. But the lack of mention was the straw that broke the camel's back and was enough incompetence on the part of this narrator that I gave up and came write this exhaustive btch-fest. I'm still going to play through the rest of the game because it's unfair to drop it during the tutorial and I will update this if my opinion changes.

It's ok if you get this on deep sale. I finished the main story in 11 hours, and there's not a lot of variety in the missions so I can;t recommend it at full price. It plays fine, a couple of times there was a bug that got me stuck between objects (nothing that a quick reload didn't fix), sometimes it gets a bit trial and error, but overall it's ok. I think my main problem is the upgrade and currency system. They;re pointless. After the third area I've already unlocked probably the best guns and the necessary upgrades that fit my playstyle. So don't expect to build a very customizable character here.

The enemy AI is just awful to play against at times and combine this with the incredible amount of bugs that I've encountered that force you to reload. No issue right? Wrong. The save system in this game is truly what makes it tedious and just not fun for me to play. Cleared an area or managed to sneak past everyone just to get instant spotted by something or get soft locked because you are stuck floating on an object. Well you're in luck because the game's last auto save was at the very beginning of your endeavours forcing you to go down the same path. The lack of a manual save is just what pushed me over the edge and put this game down. I can see so much potential for this to be fun and similar to Sniper Elite but it just can't reach there. Just get one of the SE games and you will have much more fun.

Awesome for the price I paid - $5 with a 90% off steam sale - and I can see this being almost worth full price for players that really like a good sniping focused game. The basic idea is you are in a place to eliminate important people to prevent a war and the associated effects from happening - the story is pretty much an excuse to skilfully snipe targets in creative ways with the AWPittunity to go full assassin on small outposts (or ghost through them) between important locations. Estimated time to complete is apparently 10 to 15 hours and I would say that's reasonably accurate if you are not speed running (training & first mission clear - not 100% - needed 2 hours and I prefer to take my time). Runs well on Linux with little extra effort on my decidedly not cutting edge hardware. Edit: missing word.

finished all missions at highest difficulty, was fun, AI becomes a bit of super aimbots but still i had fun, finished both games and in the end i enjoyed them. The only complaint i have is that i didnt find any reason to continue playing after all missions ended, shame cause i never even finished the skill tree.

Purchased at 90% discount. It took me 7 hours to finish the game. A quite a pleasant appetizer. Pros: Nice environment, interesting missions, open corridor, Killcam, fun gameplay, stealth. Cons: Sometimes retarded AI, lots of DLC (skins) Few weapons. If it's on sale, it's worth the money. Otherwise, I'd probably refund it. The game doesn't stand out in any way, but on the other hand, it works very well. You can play around with it, there are a lot of collectibles, but for me it's repetitive. But I have to give a positive rating, I expected less for the money.

For starters, I enjoyed the first Contracts games quite a lot. It was a flawed but enjoyable experience with some satisfying sniping elements that kept it fun from start to finish. Firstly the bug that is easier to explain. Missions have optional objectives in the form of challenges and bounties, the game offers these in a way that is clearly meant to add replayability by returning to missions and completing them later. If you didn't do this, the game would be over very quickly as there aren't many missions at all, yet the lack of missions is also an issue but is self explanatory. The issue comes in when upon returning to a mission, bounties may not respawn. Obviously this is a problem as bounties have a unique currency that allows you to unlock better guns and there are achievements linked to completing bounties. So not only am I not able to 100% a game that I bought with real money (god forbid I ever try to 100% this garbage) but I am also unable to unlock better guns that would really help in later missions since the new range of weapons are generally terrible and loud. This is a gamebreaking bug that was also present in the first Contracts game yet still hasn't been fixed in either to my knowledge. A clear indicator of developer priorities. Up second is a more complicated but glaring issue that the devs should have noticed that makes certain missions essentially unplayable. Longshot missions are a new addition to the game that puts you on a smaller map but one with access to locations that have a view of long distance targets, around 1500m. This sounds fun until you realise you're stuck with a sniper rifle that you can't silence, there are enemies on the way to these long distance sniping locations that are obviously a problem if you can't shoot them without alerting everyone and secondary weapon's silencers seem to do nothing at all. This isn't the main issue but compounds with the lack of design of these levels, which are a completely new addition for this game and it really does show that it is a rushed addition which in my opinion was inserted purely to add levels with less complexity in favour of a simple target shooting range, basically a bonus stage in older games. It's easier to design, it's easier to implement and its a watered down version of "classic" missions, again telling of the devs priorities. Also there are only 3 classic/real missions in a £35 game. The Steam page is seemingly purposely misleading saying there are 21 contracts/missions, but these are short objectives. Imagine if COD said every objective in the campaign was a "Mission". The main issue with these missions is that they are entirely designed around one thing. Bullet Cam. You might be like me and hate bullet cam. Following a poorly rendered bullet slowly towards a target just to see one of three repeating canned animations of their head exploding. I'd much rather have a more realistic and in my opinion, satisfying experience where I see the bullet travel from my rifle, into my target. No cinematic cam needed, so I turned it off. I start trying to make these shots from 1500m away (it is very important to remember the huge distance and the factors that change due to this to understand these issues), adjust for wind and distance for a very precise shot and notice it takes a few seconds for a shot to land, I assume this is intentional because why wouldn't I? It's a sniping game after all. I find that every time I shoot, the target will move about a millimetre, which is enough for my bullet to miss them, alerting the entire base as a millimetre is about a foot at 1500m. I try again and again. Each time reloading a save and needing to mark the entire base's occupants with my binoculars because even after the main complaint of the previous game being about checkpoints not being good enough, the devs decided that they would do the exact same thing again and make it so checkpoints are as inconvenient as possible and make you waste as much time as possible. I will never understand why developers are so terrified of allowing players to manually save. It turns out after nearly tearing my hair out in frustration over this seemingly unfairly difficult mission I found the mistake that the devs made. Bullet Cam isn't just a visual effect. IT STOPS TIME... This means that all of the time I was spending judging timing and missing by a hair as targets duck out of the way was absolutely pointless. Turn on Bullet Cam and the bullet not only travels in a straight line, but it will stop time and hit them in the head every time even if they are sprinting, completely ruining all immersion, skill and satisfaction from the game. You may think, "then just turn it on", firstly I don't want to. The animations are boring, it halts all momentum and after what I just explained it completely removes all skill from the sniping part of the game, which is all of it. Secondly, the issue is that the game doesn't tell you this. It is clear now that the entire game is designed with Bullet Cam at it's core, so why is it a possibility to turn it off? That's like having a setting that makes snipers totally inaccurate but it's hidden inside the "Disable HUD" setting. This also implies that the devs never, ever tested the game with bullet cam turned off, as they would realise that Longshot missions especially are designed ONLY with Bullet cam in mind. If you need more evidence that this is actually game breaking other than "it's gruellingly hard whilst also never telling the player that the game is any different", how about a target that can't be killed in the way the game specifically asks without bullet cam (or special ammo, which is obviously an unnecessary workaround for a setting in options). One of the first targets stands still in line with another soldier, your handler asks you to go for a "two for one" shot, do this without bullet cam on and it will travel up in a tall arch before travelling back down hitting the first soldier in the head (if you're good) and then it will keep travelling in a downward trajectory hitting the main target in the lower stomach, leaving him alive to run off and alert the base, that is if he didn't move an inch and ruin the shot while the bullet sat in the air for 3 seconds. Turn bullet cam on and make the EXACT SAME SHOT and the bullet will stop time and travel in a straight line straight through both of their heads. This should not be an optional setting when it changes the core of the shooting mechanics in a sniping game without telling the player. And yes this also means that countless perfectly aimed shots will travel up in the air and hit rooftops above enemies without bullet cam on, but the second you turn it on; straight line shot between the eyes on a stationary target. Objectively broken and untested. To me it seems like this game actively punishes you for wanting to be a sniper. bullet cam ruins realism and simulation and literally lets you stop time. Targets at 1500m don't die to a 50 calibre bullet to the chest so headshots are a necessity but nigh impossible without bullet cam. Longshot snipers can't be silenced yet you need to clear multiple close range bases with it to reach your sniping location. I played the entire first game without bullet cam on and it was fine because it wasn't duct taped together with with filler missions of carnival shooting ranges. I have plenty more complaints but feel that I would have ignored them without these inexcusable issues so I wont be listing them here. Obviously I won't be buying anything from these developers again. The first Contracts game clearly was a mediocre but fun fluke. Also the many times that I mentioned "developer priorities", I was implying that they care more about churning out slop for money rather than making a solid, tested, fun experience for their consumers. This is reflected in pretty much every other game they've made other than Contracts 1. 3 Missions, 3 Bonus stages, £35
