I absolutely loved Grid Autosport and Grid 2. Sadly this game felt like a hollow shell of what used to be a phenomenal racing series with a nice balance of good physics and tons of car choices for a given class.
For the Pros: the game looks really good, and offers a wide range of race styles. It also includes cut scenes with paid actor dialogue, which is an awesome idea, if only executed well.
And the Cons: This game is, on the whole, superficial. Diverse caste, diverse racing leagues, diverse car offerings. But look no closer because there is really nothing more to see. The characters are so generic that it would have been better to not spend so much focus on them anyway, and none of them even seem like a nod to any famous racing drivers you might actually know. The multitude of racing categories ends up feeling shallow, and if you play through the main story-line, you switch between categories so fast you never truly get to enjoy any single one. And since the categories are so spread out, and each category so broad, you don't get the option of dozens of cars to choose between for the same category that all race competitively.
In the end, I think it would have been better for Grid Legends to choose just one racing category to really explore thoroughly, and either figure out how to write compelling dialogue, or skip the major production cut scenes all together.

Since running original Grid on modern system is troublesome, decided try out Legends.
I am pleased to say - this is a really fun experience.

I'm old. I loved (and still own) the original Racedriver GRID, but it's a PITA to get it running right on newer systems. This has everything I personally wanted from a GRID game, and more - and it looks beautiful.

There are many things that could be praised in this game, as some aspects are truly well done. However, all of that is completely overshadowed by the utterly unbalanced difficulty. This applies to both the Story mode and Career mode. Yes, there are plenty of parameters you can tweak to adjust the experience, but it doesn't matter at all—some events have a massive, almost absurd difference in difficulty. Some can be completed effortlessly, while others require hours of struggling. Your options? Either lower the difficulty by one point and get a game that even a monkey could beat, or suffer.
Upgrades are a whole separate issue. Think upgrading your car gives you an edge over your opponents? No, absolutely not. Instead, AI cars get faster to match your upgrades. What's even the point of this system?
And what about balanced starting positions for each event? Nope, it's pure randomness. Restart the same event, and you might get placed in positions 1-5 and win effortlessly, or get stuck at the very back, fighting through a horde of brain-dead bots. Or something in between.
I’ve given this game multiple chances, but every time, it has let me down. A complete waste of time.
Total disappointment.

GRID Legends – A Fun Ride with Some Frustrating Pit Stops
GRID Legends is a game that delivers high-speed thrills, but only if you're the kind of racer who doesn't mind a track-focused experience without open-world exploration. It's packed with intense races, but the lack of scenic variety might leave some players wanting more. If you're expecting the freedom of Forza Horizon, this ain't it—it's all about structured track racing.
The Good Stuff:
✅ Fast, Fun, and Accessible – If you just want to hop in and race without worrying about deep sim mechanics, GRID Legends keeps things exciting.
✅ Great Dual-Clutch Support – If you're using paddles, the shifting is smooth and responsive, giving you that race-day adrenaline rush.
✅ Plenty of Cars and Tracks – While it lacks open-world freedom, there's a solid variety of tracks and vehicles to keep you busy.
The Annoying Stuff:
❌ Aggressive AI That Feels Unfair – The further you climb in the race, the more the AI goes into Terminator mode. Expect to get rammed, blocked, and squeezed off the track like you're in a demolition derby.
❌ Broken H-Pattern Shifting – This is where things get really frustrating. If you're using an H-pattern shifter, downshifting can be a nightmare. Even when following the correct sequence, the game will sometimes throw your car into neutral, refusing to recognize the gear change. Fixing it mid-race? Good luck—you’ll have to press the clutch, move the shifter back to neutral, and then into the correct gear at least three times before the game finally decides to cooperate.
❌ Repetitive Track Design – If you're looking for beautiful landscapes or dynamic racing environments, GRID Legends might feel a little dull. It’s track after track after track—no breathtaking scenery or open roads.
Final Verdict:
GRID Legends is a fun game if you're into structured, no-nonsense track racing. But if you’re looking for an open-world experience or a flawless manual transmission system, you might end up more frustrated than entertained. It's got solid speed and exciting races, but the AI and H-pattern shifter issues can make it a bumpy ride.
⭐ Rating: 5/10 – Fun, but flawed, One more thing The game was released in 2022 last update so far was in 2023 and we are in 2025 I believe the game has been abandoned, however I do hope that I am wrong and the developers are working on updated the game. But we all know no game company nowadays care enough for there community to have a good old no buggy game experience, but again I hope I am wrong.

Handles much worse than both Race Driver: GRID *and* GRID 2, which are two vastly different handling models, both of which are better than this. I see no reason to play this game.

I dont understand how GRID does rank as one of the best in racing games. Graphics, story, online gameplay. it has it all. Of course i own a few of these games in the series. Playing this on an ultrawide monitor and couldn't be happier. "Legends" is my favorite by the way.

This is one of the best racing games, I love it... have one problem only, why the story prays Tanaka...???
Good game, good mechanic, wtf story, good visual 8/10
This is a game focus on racing so there won't be many cars, and it make fit. Sorry for my bad English, trying to learn :)
