Lots of fun. I'm at Depth 169 at the time of reviewing. Main game ends at Depth
64
. From what I've read, I'm barely into the postgame.
• The amount of customization and choices can be overwhelming until you get a grasp on it and pace yourself. I only had one fused creature for the main game. I grinded for a few maps to match the final boss of the main game. No grinding otherwise so far. Otherwise, keeping up with equipment and spell gems was enough to occupy my time until postgame. Trying to do everything for everyone before you settle into the game feels like it'd burn you out quickly.
• Postgame is a party building sim first and foremost. Level grinding isn't really viable. Slowly build party synergies.
• Postgame has so much stuff it can feel kinda spread-sheety. Keeping track of so much isn't for everyone, but it is fun once you get it. Again, if I had to give 1 piece of advice, pace yourself.

I also have 125+ hours on switch as well, well past past the end of game's story.
Pros:
- content is solid
- gameplay is hooking
- lots of depth if you care to dig
- also easy to just play casually
- amazing for passing time, delivers on the cost.
Cons:
- presentation is umm... well takes getting over. That said, it makes sense, as there's no way to have a game of this scale without making assets fairly fast
- grindy af if you wanna craft the *perfect* team to break the game wide open and don't plan/save resources for it. Hardly a con for me personally as I love mindlessly grinding
Actual review ig:
If you get past presentation, the game is amazing. You can definitely get full value playing through the story and that doesn't require much grinding IMO. Post story game content is virtually endless, and I see myself putting in many more hours - and with the new game options I see myself putting in even more. It's an amazingly fun time sink to fall asleep to while playing.
I'm primarily a casual player who dabble in theory/teambuilding aspects of similar games. This was great for that, I played through the main story very casually and have learned some fun strats, and post game I can experiment whenever I am in the mood. It's a bit slow to build up the perfect team for given strategies, but this is honestly a plus, gives me more time in the game and I have fun grinding. It's a very easy game to break and it lets you challenge far higher level enemies to test just how much you *really* broke the game.
2.0 update is great - I'm very excited for it to release everywhere. I'm the goofy gal who uses proton on linux just to play it despite having a native build x)

No matter how powerful you make your team and perks, there is always the possibility of a bad combination of modifiers/traits from the enemy team that could sink you faster than you can defeat them. Plus the in-game has 5k achievements (down to 320 Steam), so there is always the fun boost of a new thing achieved!

Basically a blend of Pokemon and very early JRPG mechanisms. Story is fairly bare bones, but it's more about the battles and setting up combos of abilities. Have not yet finished it, but I'm sure it gets more complex as it goes.

Lot's of fun for new players. So much depth. This idle-adjacent game will keep me busy for a few hundred hours I'm sure.

I pirated this YEARS ago. Played it a bit and got super addicted for a few days. I got the sudden urge to replay it the other day and realized the Dev(s) absolutely deserve my support. Endless amounts of knob tweaking. From the biggest sloppiest crunchiest knob. To the smallest finest most intricate details.
Plus I found a tree guy that looks like my friend kyle. I stuck a pirate hat on Kyle, which he said made him feel "invigorated"
